Arrgh! Cramps!
*storms through office Godzilla-style*
Co-worker peeking up from charred desk: Um, Morgan? Are you alright?
Me: RAWR!!! Atomic Blast!! *burns down the rest of the office*

No not really because I have an almond Snickers and a Mt. Dew that will be consumed for breakfast. DON'T JUDGE ME!!

Speaking of eating bad foods, I've devoured fried fish, burgers, chocolate, and tanker trucks full of soda this week in order to deal with the worst period I've ever had in my LIFE. Yet, somehow, even with water weight and all the other joys of this time of month, I'm down 2 pounds. O_O I eat right for a week and I stay put, yet when I pig out I lose weight? WTF mate?!

Oh, and in case you didn't hear OPEC decided to be assholes...again. They're cutting production to 'firm up pricing' (and they're making another cut before the year is over). Basically they're whining because they aren't making as much money as they were a few months ago. Wah motherfuckers. Seriously, grow up. One of the problems we're having is the high cost of goods, which was driven up by gas prices. While the cost of fuel has gone down, it will take weeks upon months for the goods pricing to revert. Everyone wants to snatch up cash while they can. While I can't blame them, a part of me wishes that people could look past the almighty dollar for two seconds in order to help the rest of us who are barely making it. My boss sent me this article showing me that half the country is richer than I am. Wow, thanks boss. You know how to cheer a girl up.

At least it's Friday. I'm going to see if I can't leave early (and use up the last of my time off) to go get new glasses. Things are deader than dead as of late, but I'm hoping it's because of the Furniture Market. We always cut back on spending before/during Market because our buyers always spend TONS of money buying up the latest stuff. *crosses fingers* I'm not worried, but if things don't start picking up within 2 weeks I get the feeling I'll be looking for a PT job a helluva lot harder...Now where the hell is my candy bar?

I'm sure it will. Usually the heavy ones are only nasty for 2-3 days. My light ones take forever to stop!

I heard about the OPEC thing. It seems the major ones pushing for this are nations who have based their budgets around oil sales. A drop in demand for oil really hurts countries like Iran and Venezuela. You'd think the Republicans would be the ones telling everyone to retire their gas-guzzling SUVs and buy hybrids and bicycles!

I think you should use that report as a basis for asking for a raise. :-D

I believe that. Saudi Arabia was actually against it, but majority rules.

Our store revolves around the oil industry. A rise there means higher prices and so on. No raises for me. >_< Actually I can't say that. We've been promised our yearly raises (Jan 1st) won't be affected, which is nice. Our Christmas bonus is another story...

And as a result: oil prices fell today.

The market has like zero confidence that the cash-strapped OPEC hawks can actually afford to cut production. They want to "talk" the price up so they can sell what they're currently selling, but at higher rates.

I expect the price to continue to fall.

lol! That's funny. I hope it keeps dropping. Low gas prices are one of the first things needed to fix the economy.

I would like to think if gas prices drop/continue to drop, other prices would follow, but really... they won't. :( Because people like raking money in hand over fist, regardless of what it does to the economy.

Agreed. I put in close to 100+ fuel bills weekly, and every single one still has those awful 'fuel surcharge' add-ons that weren't there when gas was higher than it is now.

Iran and Venezeula are sweating because they need $85 oil to avoid going into massive deficits. Both countries are starting to develop massive problems already- such as blackouts and double-digit inflation.

Russia could be in some trouble to, Saudi's in the best shape for lower oil. Also, global demand has reduced heavily due to reduced production. This isn't as bad as you make it sound. For you, gas prices should go down a bit more (oil prices were down despite cut)

It would be funny if the best way to deal with our two most annoying foreign enemies was just to crash our economy.

Furniture Market- the one in High Point, NC?

I guess I shouldn't be complaining. After all, we live in one of the best overall countries in the world. No rolling blackouts, no food lines, cheapest gas in the world, etc. Although it's hard to have a global view when you have to choose between food and fuel...

Right in one. We hit it twice a year, although it looks like everything is moving to Vegas. I can see a completely shut down of NC within 10 years.

That would collapse my hometown if that happened. I don't think it will, that Vegas thing has been threatened since I was a toddler. High Point is still a LOT cheaper. If you ever got sent up there, I'd be able to meet up easily.

Yeah, we're lucky as a nation. That said, we do have to internalize and fix a lot of things- times like these are opportunities for change.

That would be nice, but I doubt it. Only the higher ups and buyers get to go. However if I ever get to MACE I'll give you a holler.

We're very lucky. I agree that we need a fair amount of things fixed, like welfare, budgeting, energy usage. It would be so awesome if we were able to become energy independent.

Energy independence is a myth. It would just lower global prices instead by a tiny amount. The longer we keep the oil in the ground, barring something making oil obsolete, the more valuable that oil becomes.

I wish I could really explain my feelings on the whole gas thing, but since I have no car and because the cost of everything has an impact on companies hiring, I have been jobless for alomst 6 months now. The longest I have ever been out of a job was less then 2 weeks. This is starting to irritate the crap out of me and is starting to cause bouts of depression.

But I will survive, I am still here screaming at the world that I will not go witout a fight, I will prevail....just wish I had funds to help with the cause.

*gets off his soapbox*

On a lighter note. My Friend Kevin aka Boomerjinks, did this video for a Green contast and won. Take a look and enjoy. He did a great job on it.

Oh hon I'm so sorry! Are they not hiring you because you don't have a car? You live in a pretty big city. I wouldn't think it would be an issue.

I think part of the reason is that I have to much experience and most supervisors fear that, they think someone could easily get them run out of the position and the other part is that without a vehicle, I can't really go to contract sites, especially if they send me everywhere. But mostly, I think it's the former, not the latter. I'll keep you updated.
