Ok, I'm a sucker for pretty girls in fuku, so I'm going to try and attend Jacon this year. I've never been and I'm kinda keen on spending a weekend at a resort. They have 4 pools!!

Anyway, I promised myself that I wouldn't go unless I could raise cash for it. My goal is $500, which would cover gas, room, food, and reg. I'm going to attempt to avoid the dealers room. ^_^ Anyway, I need your help!

Have I ever made something that you're interested in? Soap? Felt pillows? Cross-stitch? Hair falls?
Do you have a project that needs to be made but you don't want to do it yourself?
Do you have an idea for something I could make a sell?
Please tell me!

I really don't want to fall back into the credit card trap, nor do I want to cut back on the overpaying I've been able to do with my current bills. I really like the thought of paying my car off 8 months early. I'm open to suggestions/commissions/ideas. Thanks everyone!!

Hmmm... well, it is warming up into Garage Sale Season, if you have a lamp bonanza any spare junk laying around.
See if you can sell platelets? I can't here in Georgia, but maybe you can in SC? ((They don't give money for platelets here because (I swear to god I'm quoting this) offering payment "attracts the wrong kind of person." OR MAYBE IT ATTRACTS POOR HEALTHY COLLEGE KIDS WHO JUST WANT A LITTLE BOOK MONEY INSTEAD OF AN UGLY FUCKING T-SHIRT. AND MAYBE I'D DONATE BLOOD MORE IF YOU HAD BETTER COOKIES. AT LEAST GET SOME WITH FROSTING, SRSLY. AND MAYBE DON'T BE SO STINGY ON THE JUICE- MAYBE I WANT MORE THAN A TEENY LITTLE DIXIE CUP FULL.))

On a side note- if I were a dude, I would totally donate sperm. All the time. In fact, it would be my hobby. Hellzzz yeah.

I went through a bunch of the testing for that. They are really really strict about who they take for it. I made it through all of the testing but then none of the couples would choose me because my sister has a form of hemophilia. It's nothing terribly bad....she just has to go get some IV medication if she hits her head or cuts herself badly. She's fine on the day-to-day. But no one would pick me as a result. Despite the fact that I have a healthy child and I tested negative for the disease myself. (Though it's possible I'm a carrier....unlikely but possible.)

So just don't be too surprised if you go through a crapload of testing to hear "Sorry, no one wants you."

I've looked into it before. Sadly I have a hormonal imbalance that disqualifies me. Boo hiss. They only pay 3k here.

You know, I've actually thought about doing that myself. But then I found out that I'd have to take fertility drugs to increase egg production (or something like that, I read it from the intarwebs), and I don't even want the chance of accidentally getting preggers. ((I don't want any human babies ever, but I plan to have some puppies and kitties, so those will be my little fur-babies.))

Yay fur-babies! Barry and I are planning the same thing. We're just not cut out to be parents.

Btw, how did the garage sale go?

The last platelet place closed about a year ago or else I'd totally be doing it.

Hmm, we have been playing with the idea of doing a garage sale. We'd have to borrow someone's garage since we're in an apartment. lol!

And yes, I'd be spurting in a cup too if I could. No fair that they get to and we don't!!

Hm... I'm considering doing Raven for D*C if I can get my act/funds together in time. Give me a price for your assistance in the creation of a hooded cloak:)

Assuming we can find a good pattern (which shouldn't be hard), it would be the cost of supplies (est $30) plus 2 hours labor. So it would be $50 total. It'll actually take me 3-4 hours, but I likes ya so you're getting a deal. ^_^ Besides, I like having the practice.

Welp, I think you already have a pattern on-hand from the last time we were discussing it. As far as fabric goes, I'm open to suggestions.

Actually I don't. The pattern I have doesn't have a hood. However I can find them for about $7 at walmart. I was thinking of using this one. *points*

As for the fabric, we can use a straight black cotton, or perhaps a light mix. It pretty much comes down to going to the store and seeing what drapes really well.

Aaaaactually, I'd rather the color be a purple-y blue. But the pattern looks fine:3 Are the two on the bottom different views of the same pattern or two different patterns? I cannot tell.

That's fine. ^_^

I think the one on the left is a little fuller.

You could try to open an etsy store and make/sell a bunch of different things. I, personally, just bought two pairs of earrings from an etsy store. In the past, I've bought a bracelet and a purse too. So try to make as many things as you can and toss them up there. See if anyone buys ^_^

It's not a bad idea. I'll put some things up that I've finished and try and clean up/out my craft trunk. I have lots of 'if I just spent 20 minutes this would be done' things. Thanks! ^_^
