Con News (possible double post)

Geez, I finish one and I'm already gearing for the next. Anyhoo...

Otakon is about 15%-30% maybe with me. Unless a financial miracle happens it's going to be hard to make it. Particularly since it would cost me $330 just to fly up. Ugh.

The main reason I'm posting is because I wanted to give a heads up to those who are rooming/might be rooming with me at Dragoncon. The con rate is booked. $150 plus tax a night for a 2 bed NS for Friday and Saturday. Not bad since it's normally $240. I know the con goes till Monday, but I'm already using up most of my vaca for my move in 2 months. Anyway, if you want crash space lemme know asap. Arigato!

I really can't do AB. My finances are pinched already. However, I can start making product soon. I just need to figure out how to make the headbands. Mom said that it looks like they cut a slit in the band fabric, then sewed it in. That would be why the band wasn't in sections. I'm going to try and get to the store (or raid mom's stash) for muslin and see if I can do a mock-up. I also found directions online for making dog and bunny ears, but they look a little too childish. We'll see what I can do.

I figure it's going to take a con or two (or 3 or 4) for enough profit to build up for me to be able to go to cons. Also, things are still on for me going to Dragoncon. If I can afford the artist alley I'll set up there. I'll need lots of product since it's a BIG con. Hopefully we'll have our testing done long before then. Also, to be fair, I think the profit should be cut 60/40, the more going to the person who's actually going to the con. It's unfair for you to give me half when I'm not there to help sell.
