Apathy and Self-Loathing in Charleston

Well last night was a bust. The movie was FANTASTIC!! The Umbridge wear...meh, not so much.
I clocked out of work at 4:30 and started getting ready. I got many compliments from co-workers, but I think it had more to do with the fact that I was wearing a dress and make-up. Barry arrived around 5 and we left for the Imax downtown. I got out while he parked. On my way to the theater I realized that I could NOT wear my shoes for much longer. They were terribly painful because I'm not used to wearing heels of any kind. We took a few pictures outside, then headed upstairs to the theater.
During the hour wait for the movie NO ONE realized that I was in costume. There weren't any other cosplayers either, so that probably threw people off. Barry also pointed out that the Imax is on the edge of the Art district, so people might have thought that I was just some eccentric woman out to see a movie. I was heartbroken. Eventually I asked two girls passing (1st mistake) if they felt that I looked like Umbridge. They said "No, you look like an old lady." and laughed at me. I told them that they didn't have to be bitches and chased them off. Later I struck up a conversation with a woman near me. She commented on my dress, to which I said that I was cosplaying as Umbridge. "What do you think?" I asked (2nd mistake). "You don't look anything like her." *grumble mumble* Barry made up for all of it when he told me that I looked very pretty. *melts*
Yeah, so there went my ego for the night. Apparently I should stop asking for opinions. *sigh* Ah well. I'm still wearing the outfit to the book release. Maybe since the movie will have been out for two weeks I'll get a better response.
This was at work. I was caught a little off guard, so it's not as good as it could be. And you can't see my shoes. Boo...

Outside the theater. Last time the banners were almost to the ground. I was a little disappointed.

Looking out towards the harbor. That's the Fort Sumter tour boat and the aquarium to the right.

A slightly better picture. You can just barely see my kitten pin which I found in my jewelry chest by luck.
