The net has been down at work since Saturday. I didn’t know this till Monday and wish I did because I have dial-up at home, therefore I do all my major netting at work. So no net means no me. *cries* Anyway, I’m back! Wee!!

Note: This was written Monday
I got just a package from [livejournal.com profile] missmalade and I am just FLOORED by how amazing she is! Firstly, she didn’t have to get me a present at all, but she did and then took about 10 steps beyond that. She made me crocheted sushi in an adorable bento box. OMG! They’re so cute! Plus there were mini-paper cranes, botan ame candy (see gush below), and bento accessories galore. The oil/soy sauce bottles were so cute! She also made a great id/card holder out of a Ruffles bag, and it all came in a nice polka-dotted canvas bag. I’m in total awe of not only her skill at making such adorable and unique things, but also because she has a terrific streak of creativity. I would never have thought of something so different, but she does all the time. *jealousy/joy!*

Gush note: Botan ame is one of my favorite candies ever. And I do mean ever. It’s not too sweet, and nicely chewy. Most of my friends won’t touch it because it comes in a rice paper wrapping that you eat along with the candy. It looks weird, so a lot of people are put off. It’s their loss because this stuff is so good. [livejournal.com profile] missmalade, your psychic powers must have been on full when you packed the box!

Now the only problem is, do I keep the sushi in the box with which they look adorable, or do I take them out and use the bento? *ponder*

Tuesday:
Well, my hopes of having my soaps sold on the Market downtown have been dashed! *dramatic pose* Backstory: On Saturday I gave a coworker a basket of soaps. He liked them so much that he wanted to show them to a friend of his that owns/runs a shop on the Market. (fyi, the ‘Market’ is the former slave market which is now a well-to-do area of shops mainly for tourists with tourist prices). Anyway, it turns out the shop owner already carries several different lines of soap. Ah well, there’s always the flea market…boo…

Even though I won’t be rolling in soap-covered dough anytime soon, I was still inspired to make more last night with the new oils I got. I have several great smelling soaps waiting for me at home. I’ll probably make a few more batches tonight if the ones from last night have hardened enough. This reminds me, I’ve GOT to get some pipettes. It’s getting too messy to just pour the oil out. I loose a fair bit from dripage. That and it makes the kitchen SMELL! Can you imagine mixing vanilla, lavender, mango, and peppermint? Yah, not good. What’s so funny about the whole thing though is that I have yet to really make soap for myself. I have my runoff bars, which are a mix of overflow from other bars. I never thought grape and baby powder would smell good together, but they do!
