The day after the day after Christmas

morganskyeSorry about the late post, but for some reason the power around here doesn't seem to want to work. Yah. Around 4ish Christmas Day the transformer blew, and then blew again as the techie guys were fixing it. We didn't get power back till nearly 7. We've had a few power surges since then. Gawd, I can only imagine the overtime those guys got. I lost part of a story I was working on. Very pissed. (Note to self: Get a UPS damnit!)
I had a decent haul this year. Aside from the computer desk I knew about, I got:
a very large pink bag (from an aunt)
silver earings (also from an aunt)
perfume
a handmade stepstool for my bed (anyone who's seen my bed will appreciate this)
GTA:SA from Dave (it's already pissing me off in a good way)
Half Life 2 from my sweetie (it's the Gordon Freeman box. He went to 3 stores to find it!)
flannel sheets (woot!)
a few odds and ends
What I didn't get:
No music/movies/geek stuff
No clothes (a mixed blessing)
NO RELIGIOUS STUFF!! (no crosses make Morgie a happy girl)
Seriously, my relatives are twisted. I've told them a million times I'm Buddhist, but apparently that didn't sink in because nearly every year I either get a bible or pictures or Christ, or something. I know they do it because they don't know what to give me. I still rant and rave about the $100 amazon GC that Aunt G gave me, but it hasn't happened again. Damn.
To all of those who sent cards, many thanks. To those who thanked me for cards, you're welcome. ^_^
I took today off since I worked X-mas eve, if you could call it working. Sitting on my ass reading for 3 hours is fab. I answered the phone maybe 5 times. Maybe. Funny thing is that we still had customers. Wild. One guy came running in jonesing for a coatrack. He left happy, but he was weird.
And that's about it.
Oh! Dave, I put in Firefox. Happy now?
