Sewing machines HATE MY SOUL

The Janome Gold that Mom lent me is busted. I broke two needles on it and it won't pick up on a zig-zag stitch. I rage quit after about an hour of cursing. What's sad is that I was only making garment cases out of old sheets. So now I have to find out about getting it serviced. While I'm at it I should see about getting my Kenmore fixed up as well. *sigh* WHY?!? Of course the timing is PERFECT since I'm on the verge of selling one of my bigger pieces, so I'll have an extra $200 coming in soon. I would have rather put it towards a bill, or perhaps even the satin I need for Nehelenia but I guess sewing machines are just as good. I'm being terribly sarcastic btw.
So instead of sewing up Telma's apron I instead watched three hours of documentaries on exploitation movies from the 70's. Did you know that many were made in the Philippines? The more you know...
Ichiban will now be a mellow affair for me. I'm not totally upset though since now there's no stress on me, assuming I remember the booze. I plan on getting lightly toasted with friends. I've found a new affection for something called 'chocolate cake shots'. Oddly enough they start with sugared lemons.
Anyway I'm going to shut up now because I'm starting to lose track of thoughts. I also have to get up at 5am. Wee.

Date: 2012-01-03 06:59 pm (UTC)My sewing machine was munching on fabric the other day. It wasn't actually sucking it down into the bobbin area, but it was heavily feeding it through and actually making a munch-munch-munch sound. I fiddled with all the knobs a doo-dads, but it kept on munching. Nearly drove me batty! Never did figure it out, but the finished product turned out fine. MUNCH MUNCH MUNCH.

Date: 2012-01-05 03:24 pm (UTC)Ok, I knew that. I'm just reeeeeaaaally bad about it. Same for my hair clippers. But, to my credit, I'm really GOOD at getting my car's oil changed! Maybe I need to put little vinyl stickers on my mirror- "Next sewing machine clean- 800 stitches" or "Next clipper oiling- 8 hair cuts."
Hmmm. I've got a three-day weekend coming up, that seems like a good time for a sewing room overhaul! I can CLEAN ALL THE THINGS!!
