I've been making a small list to prepare for single living.

~slow cooker with digital timer since I'm not sure when I'll be home at night.
~heavy curtains to block back door (security)
~programmable light switch for front porch light.

Honestly that's about it. Nearly everything in the apt is mine save for some bits of unnecessary furniture. It will be nice to spread out a bit.

Now if only I could make the rejected feeling go away.

I say you replace that rejected feeling with a superior feeling.
You were above board, honest, and caring with a little boy who did none of that for you.
So while he goes off to live off his next patsy you are going to have a great and glorious new life!

Also I thought your neighbour was going to be your roomie.

There's about a .05% chance of that still happening. Lots of drama that doesn't involve us, but the house and the people who own it. While it's not completely ruled out, both my neighbor and I are making alternate plans jic.

Just maker sure and read it really well.
If you might add a roomie, or any other contigency, make sure the lease has that spelled out.
Mercury in Retro is a strange period.
Deep conversations almost always go wrong so avoid that as well.

Mo I really think we all should have soundtracks for the moments of our lives.
So as he leaves think of some great song that is basically to send him on the way as your door hist his ass on the way out.
It can be the same song you hear if you ever bump into him again.
Feel free to change the words according to need - as long as they support you in your new path.
Trust me a song helps.

I agree with muntahz- you're on to bigger and better things. You'll be single at Dragon*Con and surrounded by eligible nerds! Also, it's like I recently told a friend who realized that getting back with her ex would probably never happen- It takes time to get used to being alone after being in a relationship for so long, but it will get easier. Take some time to focus on YOU.

I feel loads better than I did a few months ago, but I also know that the next few weeks will suck. Hence the planned parties and gatherings. I want to surround myself with friends so I remember what's truly important.
