Saturday I went to see Daybreakers with Tara. It was very good, although there was a little too much unnecessary gore. Still, it was a novel approach to the Vampire story. I think it's worth a watch if you're into the genre.

Sunday was a whole lot of nothing. ^_^

Monday was hell. I had a nasty headache all day and ended up taking Tuesday off. Today I feel like complete crap. :( Stomach flu perhaps? It's not severe enough, but it still makes me want to blaaaahhhh....

I joined plentyoffish.com a while back and I'm honestly shocked at just how many people think that this is a sentence: "ur cute am in sville lets cuddle"

Ok, yes I get that we're living in a generation of tweets and texts. Yes I know what you're trying to tell me, and perhaps you're even trying to be cute. However you FAIL. No I won't message you back. I like to write real words. Heck, I rarely abbreviate my texts because it takes just as much key punching to get '2' and it does for 'to'. >_< Also, what happened to the period? Do these guys realize just how hard it is to read a run-on sentence? The worst offender is a guy who is in his first year of college. O_O What happened to standards? What gullible woman would think that this is a proper way to talk to a lady?

That is absolute win. Nathan once referred to this phenomenon as "the death of the English language."

I don't find those dating sites useful. Then again I don't really have any good pics of me, which doesn't help.

Then again, nothing else is useful for me.

I've had some success, but then again I wasn't looking for anything more than a distraction.

I don't have good pics either, but apparently being a decent looking gamer girl is rare so I've been a hot commodity! lol

My husband has a joke: There are only six hot gamer girls called into the dating pool. 2 will be lesbians. 1 may be not looking for a relationship at all.

When claimed, another is called. Very quickly, there are far more taken or committed ones than ones not in a relationship (and not poly) XD

So yeah, gamer girls are a hot commodity. Milk it.

The problem is the people I think who would interest me the most, tend to be on LJ and live in other countries.

Ditto. >_< I can think of at least 6 guys I know I could make a relationship with, and they're all spread out all over the globe.

For guys, there's also the taken thing. One I know I would work well with (though she says she is too flighty for me) is taken.

She's coming down here with her bf for Animazement.

I'd almost want to make a pic wearing a horned helmet or something, or with large deer antlers sticking outta my head.

I love Twitter, but it's no excuse for poor writing skills. If anything it's more of a challenge to skillfully pick just the right words in under 140 characters.

I'm in the same boat. I love language so much that text speak pains me (when used seriously, of course). I'm all for utility with certain abbreviations, but much like good cheese, you just can't substitute some things. A friend of mine calls me a left-brained word fetishist whenever I pick on one of our guildmates who is 14 and has pretty poor grammar and vocabulary skills. I do it out of love, I swear!

That FailBlog thing made me happy when I read it the other day! Almost makes me want to try that site... almost.

I also type out most of my texts. Occasionally, I'll use 2 instead of to, if I'm trying to respond quickly. But that's extremely rare. And I'm also a master at using the semi-colon... properly, even!

And BOO to feeling sick. Hope you feel better soon!!!

True fail: In my Senior Seminar for Psychology, we had to write a 30-page final thesis paper (worth something like 50% of our grade), and our professor said that every semester she has students use internet shorthand in the damn thing. I can't even imagine using netspeak in a homework assignment, let alone a serious final paper. KIDS THESE DAYS, GEEZ.
