I've been feeling off all week. I think it's finally come to a head because I woke up this morning feeling ill enough to take a super-hot shower, but not sick enough to call out of work. Barry had me drink some vitC powder (which tastes better than it sounds), and sleep in a bit. I'm very glad I'm low maintenance. I was up and out the door on time, even though I got an extra hour in bed.

Anyway, I'll stick through work until my head finally explodes. I'm just glad this isn't even close to the flu I got after Katsucon. By the third day Barry was ready to drag me to the emergency room. >_<

In non-plague related news, I'm getting a Smart Car early next year if everything goes as planned. IF. Admittedly I'll be doing a lot of test drives with it, the Honda Fit, and the Toyota Yaris. As much as I'd love a hybrid, I don't want to break the bank. Sadly, what draws me to the Smart Car is how freaking cute it is. It has personality right off the lot. Other vehicles don't have that. I've had a dull car all my life. I want something flashy. It also doesn't hurt that it's well within my budget and gets 30+ MPG. I've heard a few bad reviews though. Apparently it only goes to 80 on the highway, which isn't a big deal since I don't do much driving there. It also has a problem on bumpy roads. I'm guessing since it's so small/low to the ground there isn't much that the shocks can do. I guess that's why the put some pretty sweet add ons, like leather, wicked sound, and heated seats.

I guess what I need to figure out is if the WOW factor is worth the ride.

There's a Smart dealer a few doors up the road from us at work. Keep in mind that there is no storage space in the car at all. So you won't be able to use it for cons since I'm pretty sure you'd have costumes and stuff to bring. And it's only a two seater so that means you can't take a bunch of friends out either.

And it looks like death when driven on the road. Supposedly they are really safe...however, you are REALLY close to the front of the car when sitting in one. I've also seen them come pretty close to tipping over when going around a turn. (The husband was in the car with me and, literally, both of us held our breaths as the guy turned. Then we looked at each other and said "I totally thought that was going to tip over." )

I see them on the road a lot and I just wouldn't go near them. The Fit or the Yaris is better IMO.

Space isn't a big deal. Really this is a home-to-work car. What's going to happen is my man will get my current car (Nissan Sentra GXE), and then I'll get something to get me around town. When we go out of town we'll take my old car.

I'm going to be doing a LOT of driving before I say yes or no. I'm worried about it too. I'm wondering if they'll let me take it home for a day or two. A decent amount of dealerships will let you if you ask.
