Apparently the hurricane they were freaking about is now a TS. *rolls eyes*

Ok, opinion needed. I'm plotting out Mrs. Black for D*C next year. I was originally going to make this style dress, which would also require making something like this to go under it. However, I found this pattern which I like better for several reasons. 1) Less 'underclothes' required, 2) looks like it wouldn't kill me to wear it in the summer.

However, as pretty as the second dress is, it doesn't fit with the Mrs. Black I always pictured in my head. Help?

I'm fan of #2 just because that is how Mrs. Black seems to me. :P

I always had a Mary Todd Lincoln-esque image in my head. However, I'm sure if I had seen the second pattern first, I would have used it instead. The other dress looks like it could kill me!

Honestly? Any period dress from around 1400 - 1900 will require a corset to look right. The latter dress doesn't require a hoop, which is less stuff to make, but I don't think it would be *that* much cooler.

I'm planning on getting a corset around Christmas. I'll need it for a few costumes I'm doing in Feb. Funny enough, the initial reason I decided to get one was for my wedding dress. At least it'll be multi-purpose!

True, the costume won't really be any cooler. Wishful thinking I guess. The bigger one might actually be better since I'd get at least a little circulation around my legs. I guess it all depends on what I feel I can handle. My little sewing corner would disappear under all the yards of fabric from #1. lol!!

I choose #2

Gotta think "will I die of heat stroke" Its o fun being in a costume you pour your soul into making if u cant wear it and have fun. So I say go with the one thats not as warm.

I myself I think am hanging up my Slytherin robes for D*C Its to warm there and I cant handle the heat. So for me its prison garb all the way.

I might march in the dress with a few witchy items, and save the full-on Mrs Black for the Yule Ball. Walking around in a box on the roads of ATL isn't exactly safe in a variety of ways.
