Gas news

Right now the average gas here is $3.73. As I was driving home yesterday I saw people cutting across traffic to get to the Little Cricket down the road from my apt. Why? $3.60 that's why. Booyeah! Best part is that I pass that station every day, so tomorrow morning I'll be stopping there. Woot! On a side note, CNN made a report yesterday morning about dropping oil prices, and a vague prediction that oil will level out at $90 a barrel. They just didn't say when. Buggers.

I'll be applying to Michael's Crafts this weekend. *crosses fingers* They pay the same as AC Moore, but they start their holiday people a full month sooner. I'll still apply to ACM, just in case. ^_^ If I don't get either, I'll just take what I can get. After all, it's only till January. I'm splitting the money between Katsucon and the wedding. I'm hoping to have $800 for each, which would be right at what I'm aiming for budget wise for both. Well, it's high end for Katsu, low end for the wedding. Either way I'll feel better about things.

Speaking of Katsu, I think I'm going to make one other costume...other than the super secret 'talk and you're DEAD' project that I've been invited to join. OMG I'm part of a secret club! *squee!!* As for what that is, I'm still waffling. I know I did a poll a while ago so I won't bug you with that again. I'll probably go with either Amelia from Slayers or Emeraldas. Hopefully some people there still watch "old school" *rolls eyes*. Emeraldas is good since I'd be flying solo for part of the con, however Amelia is easier (but looks odds without Lina). Hmm, I wonder if I should try for the masquerade? I do need the contest practice for ConCarolinas...

Looks like gas is slightly cheaper down there... Our average price (for cash, anyway) is about $3.79. One gas station on my route home last week just reopened, and on their grand opening, they had gas for $2.99 x.x I was sooo pissed that I didn't have any money (especially since every other gas station was about $3.90 at the time).

Ouch! But I bet the lines were LOOOOONG. There used to be a local radio station that would do a $1.97 promo back when gas was under $3. It would take hours to get gas.

Actually it didn't look that bad.. I noticed it as I was stopped at the light in front of it, and I saw a spot where I could pull in and wait behind just one car.. But I was broke. u.u

I know! I think I'd be happier there, which is why I picked it. I'll probably give myself an allowance so I won't be too horrible...hopefully. lol!

Maybe you could ask if like part of your check could be direct deposited into a savings account? I don't know if Michaels would be able to set something up like that for you (providing you get the job of course), but its worth a shot to ask if nothing else to prevent you from blowing your whole check ^^* (I know I plan on doing that once I switch out of my current bank)

Most 'Big Box' companies will let you DD your check into 3 accounts. Heck, my job lets me do that and we only have 30-ish employees. I think, to be safe, I'd have my entire check put into my online ING account, and then I'll withdraw a little bit at the end of the month.

Wow. Reading these gas prices.... makes me wanna move. O_O

As to old school anime... hmm, a friend told me he went into a vid room last year or so to watch Arcadia of My Youth at Katsu, and he said the room was full of people wanting to see it and enjoy. Think you'll be covered. :)

The only thing stopping me from going to AWA is how close it is to Dragoncon. When finances get better, it'll be more of a possibility. Trust me, I've been wanting to go for ages. There aren't many cons I can drive to. ^_^

Heh, just remember with the lower gas prices comes a lower paycheck.
