The 'Omg no more extra cash!' feeling is setting in. Boo. I've decided that I will be getting a PT job for the holiday season, mainly because Barry will be in school. Might as well use my time wisely instead of watching tv all day. I'm waiting till September for several reasons.
1) Any money I earn now would go straight to D*C
2) I'd miss being with my sweetie
3) Couldn't go to the movies with friends because they always go opening (ie Friday/working) night
4) No one would take me right now. I'd be asking for way too much time off. ConCarolinas, trip to NJ to visit family, and Dragoncon. Yeah, they'd hate me. ^_^

At this point it's more wondering where I'd want to work. Money isn't truly a factor, so long as the perks are good. Anything I earn is going into a 20/80 split of fun/savings. Help me decide, won't you?

[Poll #1180224]

I'd love it if I could find an online/at home job. Sadly 90% are fake, and the ones that are 'legit' have a fee to start. I did sign up for a few survey sites, but that would be less than $50 a month and that's if I'm lucky. Feh.

I'm still waffling on if I like igoogle or not. It's cool as the first page I see in the morning, but it gets annoying when I'm opening a new window to go somewhere else.

Barry is going to Anderson, SC on Saturday for a AT-43 demo. I thought about going with him, but decided not to. He'd be there allllll day, and it's a 3+ hour trip. No thanks. I will be packing him a day bag so he'll have food and stuff. Oh! Today is his birthday! I woke up early and made him pancakes. Last night I made him two key lime pies...which I made wrong because I'm stupid. -_-; The recipe calls for egg yolks, and somehow my mind saw egg whites. *sigh* It baked up ok though, it's just fluffy instead of compact. It's healthier at least because it called for 5 egg yolks. That's a LOT of cholesterol, so perhaps it was a good mistake. ^_^

This isn't really a suggestion as much as just bringing it to your attention. So don't think I'm trying to push this on you ;)

I make extra money doing pay-to-blog stuff. Basically you sign up for one or more pay-to-blog companies (personally, I'm liking PayU2Blog right now), they give you assignments, you write about them in your blog and send them the link. My payments have varied from $45/month at the lowest to almost $300/month at the highest. It isn't really something that is set since it relies on how many offers you get and how many posts you make....but it's extra money anyway.

So. Yeah. Just a suggestion. Of your options there, I like the selling hand crafts part if you can keep up marketing it. I suck at that part so it's rarely a good idea for me to sell my own stuff. Advertise, Advertise, Advertise ^_^

Hmm, I'll have to look into that. I've seen your posts with the totals. You'd think that would have motivated me! ^_^ Thanks for the poke in the ribs.

I'm hoping to make some sort of stockpile of things now that I have the time to make them. I think that's really the only thing that's stopped me from setting up an etsy account. I'm such a whore for that site! I had to stop myself from going because I'd always find something to buy. ^_^

Jobwise, I'd totally say Hancocks for obvious reasons (employee discount!!! XD)
Selling hand-made stuff is definitely something I plan on doing after Acen. What kinds of things would you make to sell?

So far Hancock is winning hands down. ^_^

Well, it's a matter of what I have supplies for and what I would need to buy/learn.
I can do embroidery, soap, and hair falls/false dreads, all of which I have supplies for.
I'd like to learn how to use sculpty, making plushies/pillows/cute things, and jewelry making. I have lots of felt, but that's about it.
I know it takes money to make money, but still...

Sculpey is fantastic, one box of it, which is around $10 or so, lasts for freaking ever, and its so easy to work with. (You can buy individual little things of it in various colors for only like a buck or two if you want to get some just to play with.) It's not messy like regular clay, and I guess one downside of it is that it doesn't soften up with water like regular clay does, but that means that it doesn't water down and get all slimey, and it also doesn't dry out while you're working with it. I think the only thing I like working with more is Model Magic, but the problem with that stuff is it dries WAY too quickly and you have to keep your extras air-tight or else its useless...

One thing that might be kind of fun for you might be to pick up some Sculpey, experiment with making molds, and use those to make cute/crazy soaps. Think of the possibilities! XD

I know it isn't a full income, but you mentioned you'd signed up for some survey sites. I have one that I've been on for... not even a month now, and this one site alone already has me almost $20. I mean, it isn't perfect, and it's not a full income by any means, but it's a nice buffer, you know? I could link you if you like. Plus, getting referrals gives bonuses. XD

Never hurts to sign up. What's the url?

Nope, we're horrid down here. It's Hancock or NOTHING! We used to have a Piece Goods years ago, but that shut down in the late 90's.

Lemme grab my referral link real quick. XD They have all kinds of stuff, but I just do the emails and the surveys, that way I don't actually have to pay for anything, or anything like that. I have a friend who's trying to show me some other work-at-home opportunities, and if I figure them out, I'll totally let you in on them as well.

Bah, they basically want me to email the referral to you through them. Do you mind? And if you don't mind, where should I email?

And boo to that. I'd say JoAnn's, but since there isn't one there, I guess Hancock so you'd get the discount... or that other craft store. It's crazy that you have Hancock, most of which went out of business around here, but none of the big corporate JoAnn's. Oddball!

Heh, that's Charleston for you. ^_^

I don't mind getting an email. Would you send it to morgan skye @ gmail.com? Thanks. And I'd appreciate the other work-at-home help!

FABRIC DISCOUNT!

But also keep in mind, nothing stops you from doing a part time job like that, AND selling handmade stuff (and with EE discount, you can make cute stuffed animals!! >))

There is also a few additional things you need to consider:

-Pay
-Flexability to work around your other job
-Atmosphere (no creepy guys!)
-Commute time (10min can make all the differance in your busy day!)
-EE Discount (which is better? More beneficial to you?)
-Dress Code (will they make you buy new clothes?)

Things like that ;)

The top contenders are AC Moore and Hancock. They're both in the same shopping center, which is 5-10 min from the house. They both have similar dress codes (khaki pants, nice shirt), so I couldn't need to get new clothes. I prefer the atmosphere at AC, but Hancock has a better EE discount (or so I've heard). Essentially I've done everything I can until it's time to apply.

Sorry. Don't know best stores to work PT in your area ^^; Probably worth getting a PT job though for d*c. I told myself I might as well get mine once summer comes around; I need extra cash/spending money for d*c too :(
