morganskye: (Mup - Swedish Chef)
This weekend was fairly productive. I made more soap for the holidays, and will be able 1/2 way through after I wrap the stuff I did last night. I also applied to a few more places. Still no calls from the last batch. >_<

I finished the main quest for Oblivion. It was surprisingly easy to do. I guess it helps that I waited till I was level 31. lol! Now I'm going through and doing the guild missions. When I'm finished with that I'll probably stop playing. I still have quite a bit of time left in the game though. I haven't done any fighters quests, barely touches the mages guild, and am only 1/2 way through the Dark Brotherhood. The Thieves Guild stuff was done ages ago.

I'll be putting up my Halloween decorations up soon. Other neighbors beat me to it! That's a rarity.

I've started looking for wedding bands, just to have one more thing out of the way. Ugh! Why is it so hard to find simple silver bands? There are a few that I've found that are really generic rings (which is fine), but they're too thick for my taste. I want something thin. The engagement ring B got me is perfect. Although, I don't plan on wearing my engagement ring after we get married, but that's not set in stone.

Part of me wants the wedding to get here NOW, but I also have to remember that the journey is part of the fun. That and I'll be dead broke till after Christmas. lol!!

A Lean Cuisine and a pudding cup makes me full. ^_^ Is anyone else bothered that a product with milk in it can stay fresh at room temp for nearly 2 years?

Ugh, I hate it when people at work try to get me to do tech support for customers. Do I have FREE written on my forehead? Bah!

Pick 10 people and give them the "you make my day/year" award in no particular order. If you're picked, you are charged with picking 10 of your own (unless you've already done it).

Dad just told me his plant is getting shut down. They've already laid off everyone except himself and three other people. He's also been demoted from plant manager (serious backstabbing from another employee). They have no idea when the plant will actually close, but he's betting it will be in less than 2 months since that's all it would take to finish their back log of orders.

Dad's being very optimistic, but I can't help but worry. He'll get unemployment (10+ years at the same place), and between it and his Navy retirement and SS he'll only get $400 less a month compared to what he brings in now. He's already sending out resumes, but not getting many bites due to his age. He's got 3 degrees, years of experience, a great work record, but he's 67 and no one wants an old man. That truly ticks me off.

I'm trying not to think about it. He says everything will be fine, and I know they'll get through this. It just sucks that things happened this way.
