LowCoCon babble
Jun. 11th, 2008 10:53 amIt looks like we're going with the Holiday Inn. Not only is the ballroom rate NOT based on how many guest rooms we book (unlike most hotels), but they don't require a deposit to hold the space. Woot! There are tons of other reasons why we like HI, but those are the biggies.
Barry and I had a bit of miscommunication about the length of the con. I was thinking it was a standard 3 day, while he was thinking just Sat/Sun. I'm fighting for Friday because 1) I can't see dealers and staff showing up at 4am to be ready a 9am start, 2) It's really only $300-ish more, 3) We have the room block for Friday and Saturday, which isn't costing us more, so why not make an effort? I'll let ya'll know what happens.
We're going to try and get some local guests in, mostly writers since we can (hopefully) entice them with a book signing along with doing a panel. Selling stuff is good, right?
B and I are going down to the hotel on 6/20 for a small tour. I'm really hoping it's big enough. The price makes me worry a little bit. However, we have no idea how many people are going to attend. If we get low numbers...well at least we didn't overbook. Ugh.
Back to real life...
Things are normal. I'm still playing assloads of GTA. Omg crack! I'm also going out for sushi today for lunch. Yum! Loves me some sushi. Hopefully I won't go overboard...again. lol!
