morganskye: (Der Kommisar)
Every few minutes I get a shooting pain in my right temple. It goes away as quickly as it shows up. Ugh.

I cleaned last night. Holy Crap! I did what I said I was going to do!! I still have lots more to go, but not as much as before. lol!

I want today to be a good day. Today WILL be a good day. I deem it to be so!

*hops offline and gets to work for once*

First of all, no I'm not bailing out. I'm still going, so no worries.

It's about my costumes. With the changes in scheduling here at work I don't have the extra income to make them. This SUCKS, however I really need to just take a deep breath and say no to making anything. *sniffle whine*

Here's the breakdown of the estimated costs:
Mrs. Black purchase: $200-$300 for dress, shoes, petticoats, woodwork for frame, and hair dye
Mrs. Black inhouse: nothing available to pull from
STARS officer purchase: $150-$250 flack jacket, pants, under shirt, weaponry
STARS officer inhouse: combat boots...just boots. -_-

So two costumes right away have already cost $550, assuming my numbers are close. I still have to buy repair parts for my GB pack, build ecto-goggles, and fix my elf shoes for Lookie. The only costume I don't need to mess with is Lemming. *sigh* Thankfully neither costume is 'omg need NOW' (although I will miss stalking [livejournal.com profile] keita_yuki in zombie garb). There's nothing new going on in either fandom. I'll just rewear Umbridge for the parade. I'm thinking of leaving GB home completely since I could never get with the other guys.

On the plus side, I'll have more time to actually go to panels at the con this year. Last year I was either in costume, changing, or running to a photoshoot! Such a busy girl. lol!

Honestly, this takes a HUGE load off my chest. It'll be nice not to freak out about money, production time, etc. My only regret is that I have to wait till next year to get things together. Boo...

I was checking my hotmail a few minutes ago when I saw an msn article about gas costing $10 a gallon. Relax, it's a hypothetical situation. ^_^ It does have loading problems, so you might need to refresh the page a few times.

It did make the think though. If gas when that high, what would I do? I can't walk/bike to work. I take the interstate for part of the way. The bus route doesn't work for what I needs, and right now the passes are nearly as much as what I spend on gas. I could, however, walk/bike to the grocery store. I'd have to stop shopping at Walmart OR just go once a month instead of weekly as I do now.

Honestly, there isn't much I could cut out of my driving. I really don't do much other than seeing my parents. One good thing though is that they're building a bike path on part of Dorchester Road (I live on it, and use it to get to M&D's). It doesn't go the whole way, but it's close enough. Summerville is great about putting in bike lanes when they renovate roads. It's just a shame Charleston doesn't do the same. -_-

Well, it's bedtime. I'm going to go to sleep and wake up one day closer to the weekend. Woo!
