Weekend Update and Con stuff
Apr. 7th, 2008 10:00 amI wish this weekend had been more productive, but it wasn't too bad, so I won't complain. After all, I got sushi!! ^_^
Friday was spent cleaning, as was most of Saturday while Barry was off at Roundcon (more on that later). Then Saturday around noon I got a call from a new friend who needed a HUGE distraction from her husband because [rant deleted due to personal information and LOTS of swear words.] All in all, I'm glad we didn't go someplace that sold alcohol because we would have needed a cab to get home. She left around 7ish. As upset as I was about her situation, I was glad it happened. Now she can get a fresh start and move on.
After B got back from Rcon we talked about D*C as well as possibly going to ConCarolinas, which is in late May. Apparently he made some GREAT contacts at Rcon, so it looks like he'll be doing AT-43 demos at the major gaming cons whenever possible (inc Mace). I might be tagging along depending on money and hotel space. The good thing about going to a gaming con is that I'll be able to get lots of 'behind the scenes' experience. Since I'm not a heavy gamer I won't be drawn to panels or play tables, so I'll be able to stick with the con staff. This is great because there's a heavy chance I'll be helping/running the anime track at Rcon next year. ^_^ Of course I probably just jinxed myself. lol!
MJ is doing well, albeit spastic. I think we need to get him a buddy. I'd love to get another cat since we wouldn't really have to buy anything other than more cat food. However, B really wants a dog. Understandable since he's a dog person, however MJ doesn't seem to like dogs. We'll see I guess.
Anyway, I'd better get back to work. Tah!
