Dragoncon post
Jan. 9th, 2008 04:32 pmYes, I KNOW it's still a ways off. Blame the over-planner in me.
First, roomies.
If everyone who said that they wanted to be in my room sticks with it, then we will have a FULL room (7 peeps). This rocks for room rates, and everyone seemed to get along fairly well last year. Gail and her bf as well as B and myself claim bed space. Both Wendy and myself are bringing an air matt. We'll still need one more for Pete, but we'll deal with that later. The rate per person is $110 for Thursday-Sunday (leaving Mon morning). Marriott finally got a clue and started including the tax rate ($24.75 per night!) in the reservation email. It's a little more than last year even though we have another person. Gotta love capitalism. However it's still cheaper then one night at con rate, so it's all good. ^_^
Meet ups!
I'm well aware that trying to meet up with someone at D*C is practically impossible. However I think if we set a time before hand we'll have a better chance of actually seeing each other. People I must see that I missed last year:
scoundreldays so I can give her manga. ^_^
muntahz Seeing you in the masquerade doesn't count!
kuhpuh Techincally this is an 'again', but chatting for 5 minutes while making fun of the Alien Soldiers conga line wasn't nearly enough time.
Costumers!
I know I talked to a few people about doing a 'Robin Hood: Men in Tights' for the Mel Brooks party. Honestly though, I'm waffling on this. If anyone out there says 'YES! I will cosplay this with you!' then I'll start prepping. Otherwise I'm going to strike Broomhilde off my list. Why? See below.
Planned, finished, and repairs needed costumes that I WILL wear at D*C
Loo-Kee (will be done and purty long before D*C)
Ghostbuster (pack needs work)
Mrs. Black (planned, basic drawings and design complete)
STARS officer from Resident Evil (planned/I can buy everything I need, so it's a $ issue instead of time)
Lemming (resew opening and get new wig since my old one ALWAYS shows off my hair line no matter what I do)
I think at this point I'm not going to bother packing regular clothes. Why bother?
Tentative Costume schedule
Loo-Kee (unknown since it's a group costume)
Ghostbuster (again, unknown)
Mrs. Black (ONE HP photo shoot and the parade. I think I'll die if I wear it more than that)
STARS (Wolf Pack party and group photo shoot)
Lemming (whenever we do the run. Probably Sunday again since that usually works for most of us)
