Aug. 22nd, 2006 08:48 amWell, the physical count part of inventory is done. That leaves the masses upon masses of paperwork and data entry. My part is now delayed due to my own brain melt last night. I screw up my book twice and forgot to finish the nightly backup (which is running now on my comp, therefore I can't use our entry program till it's done). Admitedly, I did the entry for 3 count books, everyone else did 1 or 2 max. I think I deserve a little leway because of that. Not that it matter really...*sigh* So tired...
I did scrounge up enough energy to make some soap last night. I set up another batch of puzzles pieces (you rock
missmalade!), and tried out some new molds. The flexus mold is AMAZING. I don't even have to try and get it out. The others however are being a pain, so it's off to the freezer with them. I hate using that method since it shortens the life of the mold, but if I can't get the freaking soap out what else can I do?
On that note, I'm plotting what to do with my money. I need a way to track it, so I'm going to use an old 'pay off/don't touch' credit card. All the current charges are going on it so I know just how much trouble I'm getting into. Then all the money I make will go straight to that card. In theory I'll not only be paying the store, but myself as well. From the info I've been able to gather, I should be able to make around $200 a Saturday. With a planned 2 Sat's a month, that's $400 (I r smrt! yo!) I have a general upkeep of $75-$100 per month, so there's $300 in 'profit'. I figure after 6 months I'll have 2 credit cards paid off. When Christmas approaches I'll probably kick it into high gear and work every weekend. We'll see. I still have my OT obligation at work, so that takes one Sat at least. Plus I'd like to go to the anime club meetings, but those are late in the afternoon, so I could just kick off early. I really hope I don't drown in this...
And speaking of money and drowning, B and I went looking at homes on Sunday. Mainly we drove by some new developments that are going up. I fell in love with some 3b/2b 'farm houses'. They're TINY though. The biggest is 1,400 sf with a $160k price tag. But at least a new home has fewer surprises. I dunno...He's not terribly keen on the idea, so I guess I'll just have to keep dreaming for a while.

Aug. 22nd, 2006 04:43 pmWarning, this is probably boring to most of you
I've decided that all the pretties I've been getting in the mail this week more than make up for the suckage of inventory. Along with the totally awesome mini-molds
missmalade got me (neat Ikea ice cube trays), I also got a great surprise with my order from wholesalesuppilesplus.com. Apparently they're cleaning out discontinued items, so to help empty stock they gave me three molds FOR FREE!! Woop!! One is a basic guest soap mold, another is a flourished heart, and the third (and fave) is a sort of celtic knot with Irish overtones. So pretty!! I was freaking out when I opened the box. I kept thinking 'Did they charge me for these?!?'. It's a good $20 of molds they sent me. Wee!
Anyway, I also picked up dragon tray (makes 8 bars in one go), a flexus 'fall leaves', 'poinsettia & pinecones' guest, 'flourishes' guest, and more ducks and frogs. I also got an order from therapygarden.com. It had my 'fun' molds, consisting of 'H2O Required', 'Slippery When Wet', and a 'Bath Time' flexus. I can't stress enough how I love the flexus molds. The thing that makes them great (other than unmolding ease) is that they're multi-layered. For instance, the 'Bath Time' has words sunk into the soap, while the tub and bubbles pop out from the surface. Pictures do no justice.
Finally I got a book order in that I was waiting for ages for. I got a '300 Melt and Pour Soap Ideas' book, as well as a new manga and the latest paperback from Laura Jow Rowland. I'm trying not the read the novel till D*C. I have to have something to read during the car ride. ^_^
