Argh, there are days I wish I didn't come from a crafting family.

I've been really good about finishing my half-done projects lately. I'm refusing to start new ones and buying supplies. I've been super good! Till now...See, I've been thinking about Christmas. A little early I know, but I like to make my gifts for the most part. It's economical and fun so long as I get started soon enough. Last year I made everyone at work soap which went over with mixed results. Some liked it, others thought it was candy. The packaging sucked, but I was broke so I had to use holiday napkins. BAD idea. Anyway, this year I want to do a little grab bag of things. A small bar of soap (no holiday theme tho), a little trinket or bath salts, and some candy all in a little bag or box. I needed to find supplies so I hopped online. BAD IDEA! I found Brambleberry and promptly sold my soul. Again. Gawd I love this site! I want to try making lip balm and perfume sticks. *starts jittering* I need a hit man! I need a crafty thing! *shakes* Just one hit! *gets wacked with a plushie to the head* Thanks, that helped.

So here's my plan. I'll buy a kit after I finish my x-stitch projects. It'll probably be the lip balm one since 1) it's cheap at $20ish, 2) damn easy, 3) there's no way I'm going to use 10 of these things so some luck friends will be testers. Let me know if you want some! After that I'll see if I like making the stuff, then I'll try doing lye soap instead of melt and pour molds. The biggest difference is quality and price. It's a little more time-intensive, but the yield is much better (even though it has a 2 week set time). It makes about 40 bars for $30 of stuff. Tres excellent.

*sigh* I've got to stop...
