Wow, apparently Wicca is all about sex!

Gee, did ya'll know this? Silly me, I thought it was a Nature based religion that pratices peace and understanding with all things. Apparently that's not true! It's about sleeping with as many people as possible and being totally slutty!

We got a cataloge here at the store today called "The Pyramid Collection". Ok, that's a normal name. The first few pages were filled with lovely dresses, books, cds, jewerly, etc and were all very Wicca/Pagan in origin (some Celtic too). Cool, I like this stuff. Then I noticed at the bottom of the page a listing for 'Naked Tai Chi'. Hmm, ok...well, it's good to work out, and looking at nekkid people is fun so that's ok. I get a few more pages in and BAM it's all naughty nighties and 'personal massagers'. There was bellydancing stuff (that sarcasm_hime would laugh at) next to tit enhancers and 'Better Sex with Karma Sutra'. *shakes head* Gee, and people wonder where the bad impression of Wiccan folks comes from. Sheesh! I'm surprised there wasn't any bondage or cock-rings.

All I'm saying is that if they wanted to sell that stuff they shouldn't put it under such a demeaning guise. I know the local Wicca would hiss over something like this. *le sigh*

I think we get that catalog too? Not sure why..but yah, you open it and the first few pages is cool dresses and jewelry and whatever and then towards the back are vibrators and random lingerie. Weird.

Random I know but I always check out the LJs of people that I am buying from. It kind of gives me a littl heads up about the seller.

I usually don't read posts but the title caught my eye. I'm Wiccan and have been one for about 7 years now. This cataloge you got I was looking at the other day. Last night a friend and me were even looking at the website laughing at the nighties and having a ball with it. I wasn't mad or anything just really amused by it all.

The cataloge does have some really neat things and I did buy a couple of books.

Now there are some Wiccans that use sex/sexual energy during there spell work because it draws more energy and can make a bigger "bang" for your spell work. Some also do spell work naked because they believe clothes get in the way.

I know people get bad impressions all the time and I just hope they have the common sense to ask more on the subject.

I've been to a few Wiccan ceremonies to see if it was my scene (it wasn't but no biggie). My opinion of religion is "You do what you do, I do what I do. Don't push it on me and I won't on you." I just hate to see religion exploited. *shrug* And you have to admit, there was stuff in there that had nothing to do with Wicca. Nakid aerobics? Wtf?

I never took it as a catalog for Wicca though. I took it as a Renaissance catalog. Alot of those catalogs I have started to get...recently purchased a Irish dress from a store. Alot of the catalogs like to mix wicca/pagan, celtic, renaissance items together. Granted alot of the catalogs don't have nighties like that.
