Tooth update

I'm going to the dental clinic on Thursday afternoon. They have it set up that you either show up at 8am and wait, or 1pm and wait. I wanted to go tomorrow, but they need me in the morning and Phyllis will be out of the office in the afternoon. Yay, another day of pain. -_-; Not that it matters, they wouldn't be pulling the tooth then anyway. I have to get referred to the Oral Surgery department, get an appointment, and THEN they'll pull the tooth. Yes it's a long and winding road, but it'll be cheap as hell considering how much I'd pay at a regular dentist.

For now all I can do is try and numb it up and keep on truckin'.

For me, orajel (I like baby orajel better than the regular stuff) works the best for numbing tooth pain. After that, I suck on ice cubes...but that one doesn't always work for everyone.

On the good side....wisdom teeth pain tends to come and go so you might not have any pain tomorrow at all ^_^

I'll give it a shot. And you're right, sometimes it's terrible, other times it's ok. Funny, it usually feels alright after I eat. lol!

Well, you figure that technically, you're teething again and that is where the pain comes from. Putting pressure on teething spots makes it hurt less...which is why babies chew on things when they are teething. I probably should have tossed that into the 'possible pain reliever' advice but I don't know how many things you can stick in the back of your mouth to chew on. If you have cotton balls or gauze or something like that which you can stick in the areas that are sore and kinda chew on them for awhile, you shouldn't feel too much pain. But those tend to get all gross with saliva and stuff....so....umm...beware ;)

I had my wisdom teeth out right after I graduated high school so I never really experienced the pain from them coming in. But I listen to Bann complain enough about it because he never had his taken out.

It's definitely a 'if I knew then what I know now' situation. I had the chance when I got braces, but decided against it with my parents advice. I regret that now.

I'm (hopefully) getting two pulled. Both are on my left side. The right side isn't doing anything, but they're still going to x-ray them just in case.

I didn't have a choice. I had braces from 7th grade through 9th grade. When my wisdom teeth started to come in, my mother said "I spent so goddamn much money on your teeth, we're not ruining them now!" So they were pulled four days after my high school graduation. I had all four removed. The two on the left side were impacted but the right side weren't and I ended up looking like a pumpkin for a couple of days.

Lucky you. Seriously. At least you were on summer break at the time so no one saw you. *chews on pen* Ah, bliss!

Ok, if Oragel doesn't work or stops working, CLOVE OIL seriously, best number ever, on a cotton ball right there.

Clove oil? Hmm, I remember that. I'm sure Earth Fare will carry it. My system gets used to things very quickly, so I'll keep it in mind. Thanks. ^_^
