Weekend Nonsense
Things are going as well as they can be. There are still a few eggshell moments, but it's getting better. The point is we're going to be ok. ^_^
On Friday night Barry bought a new HDTV. I talked him down from the 37" he wanted to a 32", which is still bigger than what we had and it was about $200 cheaper. Man, those things are SO EASY to install. Shoot, I could move that thing on my own! Anyway, the tv reception blows but the 360 looks AWESOME. We were sitting there going through all of our favorite games to watch the opening scenes. Beautiful Katamari has become my crack again. We're thinking about getting DirectTV for several reasons. 1) It's HD. Boo yeah! 2) After looking at packages we'd be paying $8 more than what we are now for about 150% more channels. Seriously.
Now:
61 channels, no HD, $47 a month
Soon:
200+ channels, 15+ in HD, $54.97 with tax. However, this will go up $18 after a year. Still, I'd pay it. ^_^
Since we only have one HDTV I'm just going to get a regular box for the tv upstairs. We probably won't be replacing that for a loooong time since it's only about 2 years old. No point in spending $100 on a tv that can't even use all the features of the box. Although, it would be worth getting the DVR on it...Hmm...
Easter was nice, except for when I had to spend Sunday night cleaning out the fridge. Someone didn't put the lid on the black olives, so olive juice got everywhere when I accidentally knocked it. Turns out this was a good thing because I found a creamy white 'substance' coating the bottom of the fridge. I don't know what it was, nor do I want to know. At least it didn't smell. So I took care of the spills, and went through the door to get rid of all the condiments that have been sitting there forever. Wow, we have so much room in the fridge now! *rolls eyes* I felt so dirty afterward that I took a hot shower. Yuck.
We're starting to prep the apt for the influx of stuff from the storage unit. I put our dining room table up on craigslist. I'm only asking $20. Honestly if someone said 'Hey, I need a table' I'd give it to them for free if they could pick it up. I just want to gone since I have a much better one waiting in storage. I'd like to start bringing over boxes next weekend. Nothing major, just enough so that it doesn't feel like a massive chore when it comes time to totally empty it.
And finally,

This one if my favorite. ^_^ He's so weird.

What type of tv did you get? I think my brother hit the 'cherry' time for hdtvs. He managed to get a 52" crt for 1000$ delivered. They dont even make those anymore.

It's an Emerson LCD flat panel.
A CRT? Daaaang, I bet that thing needs a forklift to be moved.

Pretty nice tv though. Pity theres nothing HD connected to it. Not even a decent upscaling DVD player. My brother is one of those people who wont spend the money on a better picture, just wanted the big screen.

As for the Direct TV, it's useful if you're going to watch those extra channels. I don't watch a lot of TV outside of work and sports- when I'm at work (which has DTV) about the only thing I ever watch that I wouldn't watch normally is the BBC channel.

It's the same brand as what we got. Not a bad deal really. The contrast is a little meh, but it's pretty standard for that size.

I'm glad you got some things worked out. Good luck not breaking any eggshells. :)
