Weekend review
Apr. 30th, 2012 09:30 amI had a very pleasant weekend.
Friday night was food shopping and cleaning. Wee.
Saturday morning I was fairly vegg, but I did work on my sewing area a little bit. I figure by the time I'm done tonight I'm DONE and can start sewing. Woop! Owen came down around 3, but I had to leave him at 4:30 to go to a PartyLight event at Jojo's house. I had a good time (omg pound cake!), and it was great seeing the girls...however...well see I wasn't too thrilled with the PL rep. She was very personable and out-going, which is exactly what you want to be. However she spent all of her time trying to get people to host their own parties. I get that this is a 'join us' kind of thing, but I honestly feel that if she spent more time talking about the product (and probably getting more sales) then she wouldn't have to throw as many parties. I think the lady spent about 20 minutes of the two hours talking about the actual candles. There was a TON of awesome stuff in the catalog, but she never said much. She was more than happy to answer my questions and hand me candles to sniff, but I really feel that if she was more of a seller she (and therefore Jojo) would have done better.
In the interest of helping Jojo (whom I adore), I will be throwing her a party. All you locals are in trouble now. ;) Since I want to make it as inviting as possible I'm going to take a page from Jojo's book and have door prizes of my own. There are a few things I can make that I think my peeps will like, and it will help reduce my scrap bin. lol!
Sunday was deliciously mellow. Owen and I went over to Sherry and Raynor's for a spaghetti dinner. Girl can cook! I cuddled with their precocious Pomeranian Zero (yes Nightmare's Zero) while *gasp* watching AND ENJOYING a Twilight movie. I think it was Eclipse. The one where the vampires join the werewolves to fight more vampires. Note: I am NOT a Twilight fan and I still hate Kristin Stewart, buuuuut it wasn't as soul-crushing as I thought it would be. Would have been better with Rifftrax...I did laugh like a hyena when Jacob confessed that Bella broke her hand on his face. BEST line in the movie. XD
After Owen headed home I putz about the house and tried not to feel lonely. I really have gotten used to that boy being around. :) I'm going to need a bigger bed when he moves in though.
