Costuming Deadline

AKA Holy &$%* I'm in time trouble. >_<

Ok, most of you know about my space issues. As in, I have NO FREAKING SPACE. I have to move things in order to have 3 feet of room to do anything. It sucks A LOT. So much so that I have three weekends before a con to finish three costumes. Now for most of you this wouldn't actually be a big deal, however time management has never been my strong suit. This is why I've grown to love The Frenzy. You know, that point where the con is just hours away and you've got to doitallrightnowomgimgonnaDIE? Again, this isn't a big deal, but I'm getting tired of it.

So I've decided to sacrifice this weekend to the Cleaning Gods. I spent a good chuck of my remaining credit card (to be paid back via taxes) and purchased 4 clear storage bins and 5 heavy duty bins. All clothes and shoes are under review. Any costume supplies that aren't directly tied to a costume for this year are getting stored, as well as all my scraps. Thankfully the one thing I'm good as is compartmentalizing my costume supplies. I have bins for each costume I'm making (which is part of what's taking up so much space!). I'm going to essentially be ripping out my closet and redoing everything. Help me. O_O

I also made a deal with the roomie. He puts his desk in storage, I unhook the computer I never use, and he'll use his comp on my desk. He's also buying another garden shelf for the storage unit. The deal is that he'll put his stuff on it first (which will get it off the floor and out of my way), and whatever room is left I can use.

That being said there will be a megaton of changes this weekend. I just wish my bathroom cabinet had co-operated so I could add that to the list of Woot! *sigh* Ah well. I'm just glad to get things done.

So what does this have to do with making costumes for Roundcon? Well even though I'm losing a weekend of work time, I'll be gaining work space. I'm hoping that the suddenly clear area will make me more productive. Think happy thoughts for me!!
