Day 8 and no break
Aug. 25th, 2009 08:02 amI've worked every day since the 17th, and won't have a day off till 8/29. Now some of you scoff since I know there are many here who work two jobs and rarely get a full day off, much less an entire weekend. I have to admit, I am spoiled with my two jobs. But I digress...The reason I was working extra was inventory. Stupid f'ing love to hate it inventory. We worked nearly 12 hours yesterday and still didn't get it done. Thankfully since I'm at BC today I don't have to finish it. BWAHAHA!!
For all my complaining though, I actually adore inventory. Come September 1st my desk will be CLEAN. No credits pending, no merch unaccounted for, everything is beautiful. While I wish it wasn't immediately before D*C, it also allows me to truly enjoy the weekend since I know that no one is looking for me. Very sweet.
While Telma is taking longer the expected, the results so far are making me giddy. I put together one sleeve with under-sleeve Sunday night. It's looking fab! I'm glad I sewed the pleats down 3 inches instead of just 1. It's really making a difference. I might not even have to iron it massively before the contest (it'll get steamed at home). I'm not terribly happy with the hems since I have raw edges freaking everywhere, but since I 1) have no time and 2) can't get my serger to work I really don't care atm. I'm hoping my interview presence will go in my favor. I have been practicing my speech and body posture every chance I get. Anyway, since everything save the collar is cut and ready to sew, I see no reason why she won't be done by Friday. That will leave the entire weekend for the apron. When that's done? I be finished love.
