The Pony Island Wedding Project
Oct. 21st, 2008 03:54 pmFancy title, no?
Last night I sold sold BP/PG on Pony Island, which had to go straight to account renewals. It wasn't much, but it was enough to make me realize that if I tried I could possibly eek out $50-$75 a month if I work at questing as much as I can. So I looked at what I'd need for my dress and the budget associated with it.
~Dress $199
This is actually a simplified version of the one I posted before. Ironically, the $299 dress looked cheaper (fraying seams etc) than the $199, which has a more classical look imo. The train is also longer. Woot!
~Veil $69
~Tiara (undecided) est. $40
~Shoes (in debate) est $15-$49
We're having an outdoor wedding, so IF I wear shoes I'll probably get some cheap white ballet slip ones. However, I get the feeling Mom will have a hissy, so I found these. They don't totally go with the dress, but they've got a solid base, and I can re-wear them.
~Petticoats $90
I'm getting two jic. I know I'll use them for other costumes, so it's not a big deal. I wonder if I should get one in pink?
~Corset $200
Again, multi-use. This will be the first item bought since I want it in time for Katsucon.
I'm not worried about jewelry since I'll be wearing the same pearls I lent
amayagoddess for her wedding, so there's the 'something old'. I'm using the dress for 'new', and blue panties. The 'borrowed' one is in debate...Hey
amayagoddess, would your veil look good with my dress?
Down to the brass tacks. After throwing in $50 for shipping fees and taxes I'm looking at about $700 max. Wow, I think that's the most I've ever spent on a costume...yes, I'm allowed to call it a costume. Hell, most if it will be re-used for other things anyway. ;P I'll update when I've started earning more from PI. While I'm not going to hold my breath, I really think I can get at least half of the costs from questing. *crosses fingers*
