morganskye: (ST-LJ Post RUN!)
My LJ account expires in a few days. I quickly sold some BP on PI (don't worry, most of you won't get that), and paid for another year. However, I didn't have enough for my icons. >_< So I cleared out ones that I haven't used in ages, or were just keeping around for the off chance that I'd need it. The last time I let my account expire LJ randomly took out whatever icons they wanted, and of course I didn't have any saved. Oops. So I took the proper steps and have the 30 that I want to keep 4-evar!

There's a new game store opening up in town. Just what we need, another video game store. Ah well. They're having Hooter's cater the event. O_O There's also a costume contest. I called to see when it would be, and the guy didn't have a clue. I'm wondering if they just said there would be a contest to make the ad sound better. After all, who would dress up and walk around a parking lot in Charleston? Me, that's who! Booyeah! I'll be spiffing up my GB suit tonight and making the standard repairs to my pack and goggles. It doesn't matter how carefully I handle my pack, something always breaks. >_< Thank goodness for soldering irons and crazy glue! I have no idea what to expect, but the weather is supposed to be cool (for SC). High 70's and slightly overcast. Woot!

I'll be making more soap this weekend. I want to use up all of my supplies so that I know exactly how much I need to finish the mass office Christmas gifts. I only make soap 1-2 times a year, and a lot of the stuff doesn't hold up well. I always end up throwing 1/2 full bottles and colors that have separated past the point of use. I just need to remember to seal the soap I make so the scents don't disappear too quickly.

Ok, I'm done. ^_^

Be sure ta drink some grog and chase a few beauties into your rack. It's the Pirate way!!

I wonder why there's no 'Talk Like a Ninja Day'? I guess it'd be really quiet...

Those of you who know me (which should be all of you), know that I'm a habitual planner. I've already plotted out my Christmas gifts. Yes, I'm 'one of those'. ^_^ Anyway, I wanted to pass on to you lovely people some of the places I go for the hard to shop for. Enjoy!

Perpetual Kid
Good for friends and crazy co-workers. One look at Lawn & Garden and you'll wish they had local stores.

The Wireless Catalog
I shop for my parents here. Some NPR stuff, as well as interesting signs and shelf warmers. They sell EcoSpheres, which is f'ing cool in my book.

Signals
Similar to Wireless, but with a bit more oomph. Personal favorites...
Color Changing Aromabreeze Mister - It looks like a mad scientist beaker, with smoke and everything!
Candle by the Hour - Seriously neat for someone who loves candles, or anything unusual.
Pumpkin Crowns - Yes, they are as cool as they sound.
Das Kapital Lock Box - This is #1 on my wish list. Irony FTW!

I'll post more as we get closer to the holiday season. Oh! And for cooks, I recommend North Pole Kitchen. Free recipes for cookies, cakes, candy, and more. TONS of stuff to chose from. The site is very basic and hard to get around, but worth the time. ^_^
