My fun weekend
Oct. 30th, 2006 09:53 amI really did have a lot of fun this weekend. Really!
I got off of work early on Friday, but that was for my glasses, so that doesn't count. We did the usual grocery shopping and complaining about how much we hate Wal-Mart, yet still go there every weekend.
Saturday was a blast! I had the Star Trek anniversary party from 10pm-noon. We ate...and ate...and ATE! I made muffins. ^_^ It was fun, although I had to leave early. Boo.
At 1pm we left for the Fair. I forgot my camera and regretted it. There was this gawd-awful looking ride called 'Magnum'. It had airbrushing of Tom Selek all over it. The really big pic made him look like a mongoloid. It was so sad and funny, yet sad all over again. What made us really laugh though was the fact that we were making Magnum PI jokes on our way there. I wonder how many of the kids riding the dumb thing actually knew who he was? Anyway...we were supposed to meet
amayagoddess and her hubby at 2, but parking was total suckkage. They didn't get into the park till nearly 3. We were pratically done roaming around, but we got to hang out a little bit, which was nice. I got my traditional lemonade, and B bought loads of candy from the bulk store. We also saw the animals, which always rocks. Gotta love behbeh goats and piggies! Yay!
We got home a little before 4pm. I took a shower to get the animal smell off, and B took a nap. He wasn't as smelly as me. I handled way more lil' ones then he did. ^_^ At 5pm we hopped in the car to drive to Beaufort, SC. It's a pretty, yet boring, drive there. Little/No civilization so if you run out of gas you're seriously SOL. Anyway, we got to Beaufort around 6:30. Our scheduled Ghost Walk wasn't until 7:50, so we wandered around. We came across the city library Haunted House by accident. It was only 15 min, so we shelled out the expencive $1 each and got a really good hoot. It was a charity thing, and I was scared good several times. Plus B copped a feel several times since it was completely dark. Totally worth it! The Ghost Walk was great too. They had actors at different spots around town that told storys (mostly fake, but that's ok). It was really good, and it wasn't scary at all (which was good because I really had to pee during the last part). Afterwards we went to dinner at Kathleens, which was pricey but YUMMY! We both had shrimp burgers. Delish! Then it was homeward bound. I passed out for most of the trip. I'm glad B was wide awake. ^_^
Sunday was busy in the beginning. I was up really early to clean the bathrooms, and prep for the new roomie. We did all that super-cleaning that people usually only do once in a while, like putting annoying stuff away and dusting. It took about 3 hrs to finish everything, but it was worth it because the place looks great. Tommy moved in later in the day. I made 15 bean soup (meh, it's ok), and vegged while B and Terrance went to the Green Dragon. All in all a nice day. It's just a shame it's over. ^_^
