Mindless Rambling
Aug. 11th, 2006 09:18 amLooks like I'll have more roomie(s) for D*C. Yay for less money!
My soap order is coming in today. I checked with ups.com and it's 'out for delivery'. YAY!!! I just wish I didn't have to work tomorrow so I could play with it more. I'm also kicking myself for not starting the rainbow loaf sooner (5 layers of soap/different colors/takes FOREVER) so I could try out the loaf slicer kit. Ah well. I also picked up colored vinyl fish and rubber ducks for incerts/toppers. I should have gotten more preset colors since mine are a little on the drab side, but it was an unnecessary expence. *pout* I also have 3 new molds coming. Woo!!
Flash from the past - A girl I've been speaking to about a possible ride/sewing ideas turns out to be part of a family that I babysat for years ago. I feel really bad because I was horrible to them. I didn't beat anyone (I don't think...) but I yelled...A LOT. I feel terrible about that because that's not who I am anymore. I doubt I tramatized them. In fact I had to go into deep detail with the girl (correction, woman) that I was speaking to because she honestly didn't remember me. For once that's a good thing, unless you believe in repression. Anyway, I'm hoping we can at least be friends, and that they all understand how sorry I am. My only excuse for my behavior is that I didn't want to spend my summer spending 3 days a week sitting 4 kids and getting $20 a week out of it. Yah, talk about child labor...It's still a little lame of an excuse though...
I get to go on a double date tonight! Wee!! I've never been on one. ^_^ It's with Beth from work and her new beau. We're cooking out, so hopefully there won't be any afternoon storms like there have been the past few weeks. It's pretty cool out today (mid-90's) so maybe it'll be in the high 80's by the time we get out there. *crosses fingers*
And finally, I watch High Tension for the first time. Everyone said it was too graphic and poorly done. I kind of liked it till I got to the twist. Mind you I also fast forwarded through a good section. Spoiler and nasty descriptions approaching: Through out the movie you find yourself rooting for the heroine. She's watched her friend's family brutally murdered and her friend kidnapped. When she starts laying into the bad guy I was rooting and cheering while she slammed him repeatedly in the head with a barbwire post. I wanted the underdog to win. I wanted the bad guy to not only get caught, but to get his due. I often won't watch horror/slasher fics because I feel that usually the villan gets off light. Anyway, I was so thrilled with she killed him (and killed him good), only to get turned off by the fact that she was really the killer. Apparently her latent lesbianism turned her into a psycho (worst plot device EVER). There were many plot holes (like how can you get head from a severed head when you don't have a dick?), and there was some excessive gore, but even so I still kind of liked it. Well...I like the part where the devil gets his due, even though she was the devil. Does that make sense?
