Cleaning House

I did one of my few lj list trimmings. Mainly I cut those who post so rarely and know so little about that I doubt we'd miss each other. However, if you were cut and want back on lemme know.

I'm already longing for my day off tomorrow. Although it really isn't a true day off. I have tons of cleaning to do. It's amazing how dirty things get in 3 days. I've got to get Barry in the habit of using the dishwasher. Dad's coming over for a pre-Easter dinner since I have to work Sunday. Since he's coming this way we've asked him to go to our storage unit with us to get a few more things out, as well as to borrow his ladder so we can hang pics in the hallway. One of the nice things about the place is the two-story stair/hallway. We're able to hang our big pictures without getting into a fist fight over wall space. This is good. We don't have any pictures up anywhere, so the place looks a little dry. Thankfully that'll change soon.

Random thoughts:

My Lowes check was waaaay bigger than I thought. I think I'll buy something useless. ^_^
I think I slept on my hand last night because my wrist really hurts.
People are stupid on full moons. It's a proven fact!
I fixed our dining room table all by myself. I'm special.
I've once again bought more manga than I could read in one day. Woohoo!
I'm sleepy...*zonks out at desk*

Cleaning House

Hmm, good or bad?

I splurged and went to the bookstore at lunch. I picked up 'The Devil Wears Prada'. I had heard good things from some friends about it and figured it was worth a shot. Checkout goes something like this:

Clerk: A lot of people have been buying this book.
Me: That would be why it's on the best seller list.
Clerk: I thought it was because they're making a movie from it.
Me: *goggles* They are? Damn.
Clerk: ???
Me: I hate it when they make movies from books. It ruins the book. Like 'Memories of a Geisha'. *babbles on*
Clerk: Wow, you're hardcore about it...
Me: *snicker* You haven't worked here long, have you?

Yes, I had no clue they were making a movie from this book. And yes, I can actually enjoy book-based movies. I treat them like fanfiction. Sure, it's not totally right but they usually get the good points down. Usually. And I really did have to laugh at the guy. I'm in enough that the regular clerks know me at least by sight. When they re-arranged the store one of the girls laughed at me because I went straight to the manga section, even though it was now on the other side of the store. I'm such a 'tard.
