Quick Poll for Otakon
Mar. 22nd, 2005 10:49 amOk folks, due to some urging and a light at the end of the tunnel with my cash, I'm going to make a very big effort to make it to Otakon. Actually, it's a 90% chance so long as Lowe's hires me. Hell, even if I don't like it I'll still work there till the con. So that brings me to the first hurdle...
Who will be there? How long? Are rooms booked? Where do we want to stay?
I'm flying in personally. I checked rates and they're a hair under $250 right now, which is about what I'm willing to pay. I should also have extra cash for room favors, be it either alcohol or prizes. I seriously want to try and do the scavenger hunt again. That was tons of fun! Angie has the coolest ideas, ne? I'm going to try and convince Barry to come up as well, but I doubt he'll go for it. He's even more strapped for cash than I am, and I can't afford to pay his way. Bah.
Also, just in case you haven't heard Otakon is putting a cap on registration. They're topping out at 22,000. They did say that they're holding spots for day-of reg (unlike AB. bastards.) but there won't be any more one-day passes. I'm not seriously worried. I'll probably pre-reg once I get my plane ticket. Since this will probably be the only con for me this year I want to really go out, which means a new costume (any ideas?) and money for the dealers room (woot!). I will make this work. I miss you guys so much!
Note to Angie: This doesn't change our plans to come up to VA sometime in the near future.
