It's official!
Dec. 22nd, 2004 08:46 amMy house is haunted. I'm not saying this to get attention or anything. This is more a follow up post from back in October. I told ya'll that both Barry and my Dad have heard/seen ghost activity. Now Mom (who works from home), has heard ghosts. She said yesterday that she was working in her office when she heard a man say over and over again 'Oh my God'. It was coming from the master bedroom at the back of the house. She checked the radio, her computers, my computer, tv, etc to see if it was something was running. Not a thing was on. She also said that the master bath was very cold and that the voices stopped when she entered the bedroom. This is the better of the three incidence that have happened.
Dad was getting ready for work one morning (about 5:30am). He was standing in the kitchen making coffee when he heard someone walk heavily through the living room, go into the garage, and slam the side door. He double checked and everything was locked up tight. Plus he didn't hear the two doors that seperate the house from the garage open or close, just the door in the garage to the outside.
Barry was staying over one night when he saw a very defined shadow pass by my bedroom window. Note: He was lying in bed facing away from the window. I have a street light outside my room. He saw the shadow reflected on the wall. He did a little test and because of the way the room is set up and how far up my window is the only way the shadow could have landed where it did was if a very tall person was walking around in my room.
Funny thing, I haven't seen anything and I haven't heard anything that I know is definatly a ghost. I've heard creaking and tapping, but all of those are easily explained away. I don't doubt the house could be haunted though. Mr. and Mrs. Freedy lived in that house for 20+ years, from the day it was built to three months before Mrs. Freedy died. We're not sure about her husband, but we think he passed before her. She stayed in that house and loved it very much. The garden is lovely and the house was well kept. We all believe that they visit from time to time to see what's going on with the house. Barry and I have agreed that they like us, and agree with the renovations we've made (new carpet, wallpaper, modernizing the kitchen). We also think that they will be fine with us unless we make huge changes, like knocking down walls or messing with the garden too much. We haven't gotten a single bad vibe, plus the cat is fine so I figure everything is alright.
So I guess this means we've really got some Christmas spirits!! *dodges rotten tomatoes*
