Bad news for me

I went to the Doctor yesterday for my annual check-up. I won't go into detail, but he said he's recommending me for 'Radical Weight Loss'. AKA stomach surgery. Yah, not thrilled. Sure, I'd like to lose 100+lbs in less then a year. Who wouldn't? However I don't want to have the risk of DEATH hanging over my head. Nor do I want a huge roll of skin around my middle. Sure I could get the skin removal surgery, but then I'd have a scar running around my tummy and a fake belly button. Not cool either. So I've talked with my parents and Barry. I'm making some changes to my life starting NOW. Thankfully there isn't too much to do other then getting my ass off the couch and working out. I don't overeat, but I do eat the wrong foods. A big step is bringing my lunch to work. Not only will it save me bucks, but it'll keep me from eating burgers and BBQ everyday...*crosses fingers* Wish me luck!

I'm going to see Casino Royal tonight with Mom. It should be a blast. ^_^

I'm working tomorrow, which is good because I'm already dipping into my rent money for the necessities. I was super sick at the beginning of the week, so my OT from last Friday was eaten up. Grr...

If he has a chance I'd appreciate it. I <3 good food, a little too much actually. ^_^

If the Christmas Money Fairy is good to me this year, then it's on the buy list. However, I really want to pay off my Firestone bill first. And yes you'll have a job! Quit worrying!! Btw, what ever happened to that possible promotion?

OMG stomach surgery. The thought of that scares me. =/

Once I can get my dance pad to you, that should help.

One thing that has improved my diet a lot (although it may not affect you) is keeping fruits around for snacks instead of junk food. I've been bad this week because I bought Oreo's. T_T I also bought apples too, and I've actually eaten more apples than Oreo's, lol.

And yes, bringing lunches helps a LOT.

We've got to make plans for me to get that from you. Then again, I have no idea when I'll have cash again. Ugh, the holidays are such a drain on the wallet.

We don't really get much junk food, but our meals aren't too healthy. We had breaded chicken and alphredo noodles for dinner last night. Very naughty.

Yum! I WILL find out how that restaurant makes those SP fries. They're so good it should be illegal...

A really great salad (thats not TOTALLY healthy, but healthy and yummy)

1 pkg Spinach (only if you want to eat it!!)
1 pkg of strawberries
Sprinkling of Feta
Bottle of Light Raspberry Kiwi Vinaigrette.

And mix. Just cut up the strawberries.

Now, the Vinaigrette has the oil, and the strawberries have the sugar, but if you use a light amount, it makes a VERY tasty salad :D

Baby spinach that is :)

[identity profile] morganskye.livejournal.com 2006-11-17 07:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Hmm, I'd eat the spinach and the feta together, then the strawberries and vinaigrette together. I'm too set in my ways to experiment too much, but it does sound good. Different, but good!

Trust me!! try it!! I thought the same thing too....but its a good mix with the sweet and sour.

Next time I have some splurge money I will. ^_^

Good lord! I already ate lunch, but that sounds SO GOOD! *drools on billing*

*throws napkins at you* Messy girl!

[identity profile] sarcasm-hime.livejournal.com 2006-11-17 09:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Some oils are healthy; my favourite salad dressing is lemon juice, olive oil, salt, pepper, paprika, and LOTS of garlic. Doesn't go with strawberries of course. *lol*

*stomach rumbles* Boy ya'll are making me hungry!

My mom keeps something very similar to that in her fridge. I'll have to give it a taste next time I'm over. It sounds really good. I wonder if it would make a good marinade of sorts....

Yikes, I don't really believe that surgery is the only option for some folks. The motivation of not having to go that route towards a more safe and manageable way is certainly a huge incentive to stick with it. I believe in you! Small changes over time make a difference. Lar has lost 30lbs since July and he's not suffering or complaining like he did when we were on "6wk body makeover" years ago. :P~

Yah, the thought of them going in and doing bad stuff to my tummy is not appealing. Although I do think I picked the wrong time to try and diet...

I've thought about doing an extreme diet for a few weeks, just to jump start my system. However, I don't do well with major changes. I can be such a whiner! lol!

[identity profile] missmalade.livejournal.com 2006-11-22 01:49 am (UTC)(link)
Yah, the extreme diet works for some, but for most (me included) it's a temporary thing and the weight comes right back even when eating normal/healthy. :P

[identity profile] morganskye.livejournal.com 2006-11-22 12:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Yah, it's hard to say what will work and what won't. I guess I'll just have to try and see what happens.
