Women rock!! Apparently there's a new sub-group of otaku called 'Otome'. It means 'maiden' and refers to the female half of the otaku generation. Woot! Read on!.

Ah yes, but Boy's Love has been a strong presence in anime and manga fandom for quite some time. I'm surprised the audience hasn't gotten much attention until now.

I thing this story is more than the market for Shonen Ai and Yaoi manga/anime, although that is a significant part of the ladies' interests.

The interesting part is that the sheer number of otome has grown to the point where many different shopkeepers can justify setting up business in a single street, selling not just SA/Y, but all kinds of other genres of interest to the ladies.
