Weekend review and costume babble

I had a really good weekend. Spending time with [livejournal.com profile] amayagoddess was awesome sauce! We really need to do it again sometime. I really missed chatting with her about everything and nothing. ^_^

Sunday was nice. We didn't spend too long in Beaufort. We left at 11am and was home by 5pm. Mainly we walked the riverfront, browsed shops, and ate at Kathleen's. Omg so good! I love their shrimp burger. I wish I could find a place in Chs that sells them, but apparently it's a Beaufort thing. We also stopped at one of the cider places along 17. I got some peach cider and a pecan marshmallow. Want more!!

I've still got a cough. It's really starting to get on my nerves. It wouldn't be so bad if I was actually coughing something up. Right now it's just dry and annoying.

I've made a decision about Mrs. Black. I might be buying the dress instead of making it. Before you all go off on me, let me explain. I don't even have a flat cutting board, much less the space to cut, piece, and sew a full on Civil War gown. There's also the problem of finding a pattern that fits. The largest I've been able to locate is a size 24, which is 4 sizes smaller than what I am now. By the time I get down that small D*C will be here and I won't have time to make the gown. I found a seamstress online that will do it for $180. Considering I'd be spending at least half of that on supplies I think it's worth the cost. I'd still need to get a corset, shoes and hoop skirt (although I may just wear petticoats) plus whatever accessories I need. So far this is turning into one of the most expensive costumes I have!! I think it'll be really fun to wear though. ^_^

I really need to think of something I can make and sell online. It's not that I'm broke, but I'd really like to have a costume budget instead of using a credit card. Anyone want to buy some soap? -_-;
