Projects, rants, and cupcakes

Projects:
I made a 50's 'Hostess' apron this weekend for Roundcon. Basically it's the apron a wife would wear when the hubby brings home company. Completely impractical but sooooo pretty. Eight yards of eyelet lace. EIGHT!! I made it off a vintage pattern, which was an eye-opening experience. Let's just say that women back then had the time to hand stitch everything. I do not. Still, it looks very nice, and while there are minor design issues I can deal with them.

Tonight I'm working on a new tunic for my Klingon costume.

Rants:
I have been sick for nearly three weeks. THREE WEEKS!! I'm so ready to be done with this. I wake up at least once a night with a coughing fit and I'm always incredibly tired. Feh!

broccoman showed me this year's line up of Ghostbusters toys. Mostly uneventful until I got to the "Sexy Ghostbuster by Kotobukiya". No, it's not Egon in a Speedo (although a girl can dream). It's a standard sexy girl in a non-existent outfit. Thanks Kotobukiya for not making an effort.

Cupcakes:
David brought cupcakes to work. Yum!!

yay cupcakes! someone here brought a tray of adorable vanilla/cherry mini-cupcakes frosted with pink icing and sprinked with little hearts. I let myself have one and have thus far ignored the valentines donuts in the breakroom. Then KrispyKreme sent us 2 boxes just to be nice to us. arrgg.. must.. resist.. sugar..

Not one person or customer brought us anything today. That's how I know the economy is still crap for us. :P

If I had more time over the weekend, I would have made my coworkers the most awesome brownies in the world, but I took the time to clean since it's the only time I can. This way, I get to make the brownies tonight, and they'll be this week's dessert, muahaha.
