I should have stayed in bed

As soon as I got to work this morning things started going wrong. The fridge is broke sometime on Sunday, and the roof over the storage room imploded from the little rain we got this weekend. >_< The fridge I can call about, but the roof is an expense I'm not allowed to touch without permission. *sigh* I hope this isn't an indicator of how the rest of the week will be.

As quickly as it came, my loan money is gone. I had a little bit extra, which was spent on food and dinner out. I thought I had more, but I looked at my bills again and apparently I don't. I'm in accounting so how can my math be bad? Thankfully I still have a wee bit in savings, which hasn't happened in...well ever really. *sigh* Add to this the fun fact that Barry's car insurance will be going up. I didn't realize that we were re-financing his car, not just using it as collateral. So the $100 spare a month is now around $50ish. I might as well just forget about that money too because I'm sure SOMETHING will happen and it will get taken from me. I'm trying not to be depressed, but it's really hard not to think horrid thoughts right now.

Oh, and someone stole all the heavy clips from my desk over the weekend. I had to go hunting for my clip jar too. F'ing jerks. You'd think that if it's on my desk then I obviously need it.

I want sushi so badly right now...

On a small lighter note, we finally picked a wedding spot and date. We're getting married at 1pm on 10/17/09 at Old Fort Dorchester State Park. In fact we'll be getting hitched in front of the old chapel shown in the picture. The restrictions are kind of annoying, but understandable since it's a working archaeological park. I don't think we'll have many chairs since we 1) can't stick anything in the ground, including chair legs, 2) can't have more than 30 chairs anyway. Ah well, at least we have a set time and place now.

The things you hear over lunch

Alison and I went to a hibachi place for lunch because she had a bogo free lunch coupon. Anyway, we were seated with 6 old people (est 60+). All in all it was nice conversation until the topic rolled around to politics. UGH! Apparently only one guy was pro-Obama. The rest were militant McCain supporters. Fine, you can chose who you want. That's what makes America great. However, they were also incredibly racist. One lady was telling off the Pro-Obama guy over that 'anti-America' speech his former pastor made. I also heard another lady at the end of the table say "If Obama gets voted in, they'll have to rename it the Black House." This was followed up with various stereotypical comments about rims on the limo and 'blacking up' the Oval Office. Alison looked at me and said "Let's get out of here before the Klan rally starts."

There are many things once can expect when living in the South, however I still get shocked when I see/hear things like this.
