I'm about half-way through with the August of HELL. PGA is done, as is inventory. Now all that's left is D*C prep and Year End. Is it weird that I can handle Year End better then costuming right now? Sheesh.

I'm in love with my phone, warts and all. There are a few weird things, like how I can't assign a contact it's own ringtone (serious WTF?! since my phone from 10 years ago could do that) or how the volume bar is right where I rest my pinkie when I'm texting. Still it's overall a good little phone and I like it. I also finally found a near-perfect app to keep my personal library straight. It's called MyBookDroid. It's near-perfect because I can't get the ISBN scanner to work, but everything else is great.

Dragoncon is coming! This time next week I'll be finishing up my work like a mad woman so I can be out the door at 2pm and hopefully on the highway by 3pm. *crosses fingers* I still have a fair amount of work/shopping left, but at this point it's all minor things like curling wig bangs and fixing seams. I am already having trouble sleeping though, which sucks. I have to keep a note pad on me at all times so I can write all my 'don't forget!!' stuff.

Other than that? There's nothing going on. For realz. *le sigh*

This week has been a nightmare. The PGA is in town and since I work for the golf club right beside the Ocean Course we knew we'd be busy. So GC boss asked if I could work mornings at the club and afternoons at the furniture store. We were able to work things out, but 12 hour days are HARD. Thankfully I'm done with the club and in 3 hours I'll be free for the weekend. FREE I SAY!!

Well, not really free. More like 'I have tons of work do to in prep for Dragoncon, but I'm not required to wear pants'. That counts, right?

I need to make a devil hat, make Present!Pinkie Pie, repair Gotham Impostor, repair Telma, and if the Time Lords are willing make Con Party Clara. The devil hat and Clara are going to be the most annoying. I only have a general idea of what I'm doing for the devil hat (for reference it's Monstroso from Venture Bros), and Clara is a sort of original design. Basically I'm making a costume that Clara would wear to a con, but not a 100% Avatar reproduction. So I have to be Clara enough to be recognized as Clara, but not so Clara that the joke/intention is lost. I feel that the key will be in my representation.

(all said while wearing a squid hat and keeping fake booze on hand. huzzah for crystal light)
"You like my costume? I bought it on ebay. Yeah Wiggly said that the money was for the kids' college fund but God knows they'll never make it past middle school."
"Omg Dragoncon! Who's got booze?"
"It's so weird. I've never been AFK for so long."
"Hey sexy! You know I'm married, but he thinks I'm at a business conference. Cheers!"
"Apple Pie is the perfect drink. I don't remember drinking it, but I know it's perfect."

Anyway, P!PP will be fairly easy since it's all nearly closet. I need to dye/mod the sweatshirt, make leg warmers, and decorate the box. The wig needs a little fluffing, but not much. As for the balloons? Not totally sure what to do with that. I'll figure something out.

Is it too much for three weeks? Yeah probably. *le sigh*

I'll be heading up to Columbia this weekend for Roundcon. This is my third year attending as a guest/panelist/damn near staff. I'm not excited to go per-say, but only because I have a crap ton on my mind right now. I know when I get there I'll have a good time. :) I'm only doing 3 panels and hosting/judging the costume contest. Kind of mellow considering what I've done in the past, but thankfully more people are interested in running things so that takes a lot of stress off me.

I'm keeping costume-light again because I didn't have the time to make anything new. My Super Secret costume came first, but the deadline was hit in time so now I can do other projects. However there isn't much I can do between now and Friday morning. Ah well. Maybe I'll finally bust out that damn Squid Hat I've been talking about for months. SQUID HAT!! I'm going to be so pretty.

Reminder: Check Telma for damage and make a new Bat Symbol since mc chris got my last one. :D

I know I've mentioned this elsewhere, but my ex will be at the con. UGH. I haven't seen him in a year+, and I figure it'll be civil since he's not bringing the skankwhoreslutbagbitchdemon girlfriend. And yes, I'm fully aware it takes two to tango, but I've never liked her and she knew what she was doing so my hate will stay right where it is thankyouverymuch. XD Anyway, it'll be interesting. Thankfully he's only there for a few hours on Saturday so I'll easily be able to keep my distance. Besides, I'd rather have a good time then freak about him. Completely not worth it.

NOTE: I'm not a paid consultant for Party Lite, just a candle whore who wants to add to her collection. I'll only make a post like this once or twice a year. Promise. :)

*puts on sales lady hat*

It's that time again! For those of us who are hardcore into Halloween, now is the time that many companies are putting out their Halloween (and Christmas) collections. Party Lite is no different. However we all know that Halloween merch always has a short run. Ask anyone who's fought their way to Yankee Candle only to find all the good stuff is gone. While PL doesn't have the macabre selection YK does, they're easier to get, smell just as good, and has better prices!!

I hit up the local theater with some friends last night for the Star Trek: TNG event. It was set up to promote the release of the first season on Blu Ray.

OMG WANT NOW SO HARD!!!!

Some things I had seen, like the comparison shots between the original and the digital remaster. Other things were new, like screen tests for the actors (lol Worf you so crazy!), behind the scenes shots about how certain effects were done, and tons upon tons more. Completely worth $60, which honestly is fairly cheap considering how much work went into the release. Many of the effects had to be completely redone since they weren't actually on film at any point.

Since I don't have an active collection jar right now I'm going to start one for the set. Collection jar? Morgan, what are you talking about?! See, when I want something that's completely frivolous (like my Batgirl sneakers) I set up a collection jar (it's just a change jar). When I have spare change or small bills I throw them in there. That way I'm not putting it on a credit card or skimping on a bill in order to get what I want. See? I'm an adult!!

Anyway, I really hope they do a release day showing again for each season. Totally wicked. :)

Now we'll hop into the Way-Back machine and go to this past Saturday when I went up to Columbia with Owen to see mcchris. We stayed with my amazing friends Shirley and Sean. Shirley took us around town while Sean did some networking with the local art scene. Around 6 we got dinner then hit the tavern where mcchris was playing. It was hella hot in there but 100% worth the trip. He was in top form and super sweet. Sure there's been some flak about him lately, but I've been a fan for 10 years and I'm not going to turn my back on him because of one incident. Anyway, we all have a fantastic time. I got a sweaty hug from him! Wee!! After that it was Ramen House time (I had gyoza and rice balls), then home for some much needed sleep. All in all a very very good time and I can't wait to do it again.
morganskye: (Zombies - Caution)
I feel a nasty headache coming on. :( I've already popped some pills and caffeine. Hopefully it will pass quickly. If it's tied to the rain that's coming then it will be gone by the time the clouds pass.

This weekend was nice, but I didn't get half of my to-do list done. The Partylite event went off well. I snagged some discount votives and a $50 gift card for the next party (Halloween is coming!). Not a bad haul for only having to make oatmeal jam bars and some jello. XD

Speaking of jam, I used the delicious stuff [livejournal.com profile] fluffydragon gave me at ConTemporal. So freaking GOOD! You have a gift for canning my dear. Had a hell of a time opening the jar though. I know that's the point, but it was the kind of scene made for a romantic comedy. Me, the frazzled girlfriend who's just trying to impress the parents vs. a jar of jam that won't freaking OPEN. Cue knives, counter slamming, and Snookie-esque whining. Totally worth the effort.

Had a crazy dream the other night. I was working PT at Journey's Shoes at the local outlet. I was about 100lbs lighter (it's my dream damnit!), but I was also back in my Velma haircut and black glasses. So basically it was me from 2000 working there. Anyway, I was showing my co-workers that 'white girls can bounce' to the tune of 'Get Low' (because a family friendly shoe store would totally play that). Through the glass my Evil Ex saw me, came in, and asked if I was busy. My manager said I could leave early, so he walked me to my car. Only it wasn't my car, it was a bright orange Fanta-themed motorcycle. Apparently I won it and was obligated to keep the paint job. I put on a Mass Effect themed leather jacket and neat helmet before blowing him a kiss and waving good-bye. He was then immediately hit by a car driven by the Other Woman.

I really want a motorcycle now.

I really want a new phone. There's nothing wrong with my old one, so I've been waffling.

Keeping old phone
Pro: Affordable plan, phone works well, does what I need it to do
Con: Can't get picture texts, limited range and battery life, too old to get apps

New phone!
Pro: Smartphone BOO-YEAH
Cons: With a new phone comes a new phone plan which means $20 more a month on top of the cost of the phone.

So basically it's money vs. convenience. Since we all know I love keeping a tight budget, I'm making myself work for it. Work it girl! *shakes off urge to walk the runway* In order to allow myself a new/higher expense, I need to eliminate an old one. The smallest bill I have is a Capital One credit card with a balance of $500. When that's paid off it will free up $25 a month, which magically is the amount my phone bill would increase by when I upgrade.

Logical, frugal, AND beautiful. I can't get any more perfect. ;)

Along with my financial and life goals, I decided to add one more to the mix: Being Aware That I'm A Girl.

I won't say I'm a tomboy, but I'm severally lacking in many of the feminine things that most of my women friends know. Putting eyeliner on properly, wearing high heels, buying the correct bra...you know, the basics. Yes I know that just as many of my friends don't know these things as do, but I want to learn. I'd like to not only wear a small amount of makeup daily, but to make it look natural. Right now I only know 'Makeup Gun on 11' kind of stuff. Subtle is a mystery to me.

My first step is to get into the habit of good skin care. Right now all I do is wash my face twice a day and moisturize when I remember. NO BUENO! I'm 32 now and that won't cut it anymore. If I want to be one of those chicks who looks 40 at 50 then I need to step up my game.

The second step is to use the products I own. I'm in a bad habit of buying something thinking it will get me into a good routine only to have said item sit on a shelf and collect dust. NO MORE! I have more hair products then Snookie and enough face gunk to make Jwoww question my sanity. Don't even get me started on samples. I never turn down free stuff, which is fine assuming I use it. Going hand-in-hand is the added bonus that if I have a good product I try not to use it. If something smells really good then I'll never crack it open. Perfume and body wash are the hardest for me to use. >_<

The third, and probably easiest, is to use lotion on more than my face and hands. I think I'll get this habit first because I've already been in lotion overload with my sunburn. Right now I'm halfway through a bottle of Avon Moisture-Lock, which is great because while it's good it's also very heavy. I'm hoping to replace it with something lighter, but only after I've used what I have/stop peeling. Ick!

This morning I was off to a good start. After my shower I used astringent (had it for 3 years. glad it doesn't expire), and two samples from DHC (a Japanese skin care company aimed at an older crowd). The moisturizer was good in a basic sort of way. There was enough in the pack to do my face and neck easily. The eye cream was more of a gel and I loved it. It went on very very smoothly (a plus since the area is so delicate) and I can't feel it at all. It does double duty as a dark circle lightener which is great since I have those in spades as of late. This might become a Full Size Purchase in the future. I have two more packs of the stuff, and it looks like there's at least 3 uses in each pack so I'll be able to get a good idea of if I truly want more.

Hopefully if I can continue with this then I'll not only have a happier body, but a more confident attitude. :)
morganskye: (PIE!!)
My silver lining of tanning after the burn disappeared this weekend now that I've started to peel. So apparently I can only be either Dayglow Red or Vampire White. Fun.

I'm better, but extremely tired. We're talking post-Dragoncon tired. It sucks. I haven't gotten anything done aside from laundry, and really that's only because I needed clean towels. Clean towels are amazing. Anyway, I'm hoping to be back to normal speed soon, or at least able to stand for more than a minute without pain. With Roundcon creeping up I have three costumes to make from scratch by August 1st. While they're not hard, they're time-consuming because I need to mod patterns on all of them. Fun. At least I already have the supplies I need.

In upbeat news, I finally had a 1st place finish in Gotham City Imposters. Pretty sure it was a fluke, but I'm still thrilled. The roomie was laughing at me because I didn't realize I placed.

Me: Hey! That Bat avatar is dressed exactly like mine!
Roomie: That is you. Dumbass.
Me: WOO! I'M AWESOME!!!

For future reference to all you locals (or people who like to travel), I'm going to be having a 50k achievement party. When is in debate since I'm still a while away from that, but I think it would be fun to do. Besides, what better reason is there for a party? Think of all the stupid signs and cupcakes I can make!!! CUPCAKES!!

The future has been on my mind a lot lately. There are talks of weddings, both mine and those I care about, house hunting, and life in general. I think since I've been pondering it so much I should put it down somewhere.

Timeline:
~Roommate's fiance moves in - next month (I think?). Either way it's soon.
~Owen moves in - est early 2013
~Roomie and fiance get hitched - 7/2013
~Roomie and fiance moves out - est end of 2013 (exact date depends on the job market)
~House/condo purchased - aiming for June 2013 since that's when my lease runs out, otherwise it's 6/2014
~Marry Owen - There are a lot of factors to this, but honestly I'm not looking till 2014, probably in the Fall.

Personal Goals:
~Continue weight loss. Aiming for 50lbs a year, which is incredibly reasonable. With a 2014 wedding date I'll easily be within my required Wedding Dress weight (size 18).
~Pay off at least 2k in debt AND put 4k in savings for new house. Very hard at first, but it will snowball eventually (I hope).
~Reduce convention attendance. Quality over Quantity, but try one new con a year to prevent stagnation.
~Return to costume competition. Maybe win an award or two for my ego.
~Travel to a new place once a year. Requires at lease 6 hours driving and a three day stay. Must be somewhere I've never been before. Can not be convention/nerd related.

A few things will need to be worked on. I'll probably try to get another PT job after AWA since I only have a wedding and 1 con between then and April. If I can hit at least 50% of my goals then I'll be happy. There are a lot of factors that can't be predicted, but I'm not going to let things get me down. The best I can do is indeed my best.

This isn't the post I wanted to make, but ah well. If I keep putting it off it'll never get done.

Contemporal was this past June 23-26 up in Chapel Hill, NC. I went specifically because my awesome friend and costumer-deluxe [livejournal.com profile] fluffydragon was on staff and looking for suckers panelists. I stayed with her, [livejournal.com profile] elfgirlmchan, my cousin Angela, and Chainmail Chick Allegra. Basically it was like a giant nerd sleepover with costumes. WEE!!

I got there Thursday afternoon and found the room easily, although the front desk people were oddly slow. There were four of them up there, only one person in line besides myself, yet it still took 10 minutes of waiting to ask for the key Kim had left me. >_< After settling in I wandered around till the girls showed. Angela, Allegra, and myself went to the Guest of Honor dinner. If it wasn't for all the steampunk costumes I would have though I was at a wedding. Cash bar and rubbery chicken FTW. We did have some interesting company. Ruben, writer and artist for Masked Manor, was at our table. Well, I should say that we hijacked his table, but he was alone so he had no choice. Apparently my personality was a bit...surprising to him. While I won't repeat what was said/done, I will note that apparently my ladies thought the best part was seeing the reaction on his face when I'd open my mouth and do what I do. Needless to say I don't need booze to act like a complete ass. XD Still, I made a lasting impression on him when he wrote "Dear Morgan, You're dead to me. Love, Ruben :)" in the front of the GN I bought from him. See, the smiley face means he still likes me! :D

On Friday my panels were oddly placed. I had a 4pm, 10pm, and 11pm. O_O In all honesty they were fun though. I had Wigs at 4 with Jeanne *brainfart*, who is actually a top-notch special effects/hair stylist. She worked on Hunger Gamers as well as freaking everything else that's filmed in NC. We had a good giggle when we realized upon trading business cards that we both used the same stock images from Vistaprint. My 10pm was a bust because it was directly opposite Jennie Breeden's Kilt Blowing, but that was good because then I got to go. Note: Owen needs a kilt NOW!!! My 11pm panel (A Costume for Every Body) was pretty darn full, which was shocking considering the time slot. We talked about a variety of things, and I'm fairly sure people enjoyed themselves. The guy with the 12 year old scotch to share didn't hurt either! I was finally able to see the appeal of Steampunking an established character. Scotch Guy made a point to talk about his Steam-Captain Marvel and how he made it work for his plus-size frame. SG needs to run his own panel because that stuff made sense.

Saturday was surprisingly mellow. I had a costume basics panel with some pirates (damn I love cons), then the rest of the day to chill till the costume contest. Kim did an amazing job!! I can't say that enough. GOOD JOB KIM!! It went smoothly although there was some behind-the-scenes drama, but that's normal. Aside from some miscommunication it was all good with my ladies. After that I kind of crashed (as I always do post-contest). I went back to the room to pack/order pizza while the others spread out to wreak havoc. Angela and Kim eventually joined me for pizza which was DELICIOUS.

Sunday was a bit of a downer since I had to say good-bye. After a few minutes of wandering I packed up and made the 5 hour drive home. I don't know if I'll return next year as my attendance is solely based on my ladies being there, but if it happens I'll be looking forward to it. :)

A few random WTF's and lol's:
~"Oh, so YOU'RE Morgan Skye." said by the volunteer when I picked up my Guest Badge Friday morning. Wow, didn't know I had a rep already! I guess I did more damage at the GoH dinner then I thought...
~Late night brownie parties need to be a thing at all cons forever because brownies at 11pm are heaven.
~Minor suck: a head staffer thought I was a volunteer because I was helping with Friday morning setup. When I saw her later in the ConCom room she turned snotty when I asked were the Green Room was. I politely showed her my Badge and asked again. She didn't apologize, but she did grumble something about making Guest badges bigger next year. *le sigh* I don't mind helping, and often do without being asked, but seriously LOOK before you assume!
~On that note the Green Room was so cool! Had a good chat with lots of people on all sides of Steampunk. <3 Also, bananas and apples! As many as you could carry!
~The emcee for the contest was HOT. James? John? Jason? Meh, whatever. He was from Penny Dreadful, was wearing SP Boba Fett, and had a sexy beard. I didn't flirt, and for that I'm proud of myself.

The End!
morganskye: (Sick Sad World)
I can't catch a fucking break right now. Last week I was sick in ways that usually involve a hospital visit. I lost work time and money from it, but it was what it was and I was able to deal as best as possible.

On Saturday I'd splurged (and by splurge I mean $20) and went on an afternoon river rafting trip with friends and Owen. I spent about 5-10 minutes at the pharmacy trying to pick out the best sunblock. I eventually got Neutrogena's Wet Skin 45 spf thinking that since I would be on the water having something that could go on my wet skin would be ideal. When we got to the river it was hot, but it wasn't more than 90 degrees (compared to 105 in the city), and the water was around 70. Perfect! I reapplied three or four times over the course of the trip and I wore a hat the whole time. I figured I'd be pretty pink, but not horribly burned. WRONG. So very very wrong. I went to Nasson medical on Sunday morning because I couldn't fucking MOVE. My legs, arms, and back are cherry red. Even after a steroid shot, heavy doses of Prednisone and Lortab for the pain I'm still in agony. Needless to say Neutrogena is getting an incredibly angry call from me in a few minutes.

Then this morning it occurred to me that I didn't pay the rent. FUCK. I called the management office and the manager told me I was SOL and I have to pay a $70 dollar late fee. I tried to tell her that I was very sick last week but she wasn't having it. I told her I could provide doctor's notes as well as a letter from my boss proving I was ill and couldn't leave my apt. No dice. So the doctor cost me $110, which wiped what little savings I have left, and now I have to come up with $70 before the end of the week. FML.
morganskye: (PIE!!)
this isn't where you'll find one...yet.

From Tuesday night on my head has been a freaking mess, not to mention my voice. I'm assuming it's delayed con crud which is odd since I haven't come down with that in an eternity. Hooray for vitamin C and remembering to eat! Anyhoo, since I was doped up on 'killers I had some fantastic dreams. The only one that I remember fully is this one:

I'm walking down the street and see this guy who looks like a buff Tony Stark. I tell him so, and he says 'Well actually I run a porno site and Tony Stark is one of the costumes I wear'. I pause for a moment, then start throwing money at him while screaming 'SHOW ME YOUR WAR MACHINE!!!'.

The sad thing is that I would actually do this in real life. XD

During my bouts of clarity and wakefulness I played the new DLC for Skyrim. Not bad. Could have been longer for $20, but I'm happy that there's more. I'm also well-aware that I technically power-played so if I had gone through the game at normal speed it would have lasted me through the weekend. Also some guy on XBL was being incredibly flirtatious which was cute, but a little O_O at the same time since I don't know him from Adam. To keep from pulling a Jwoww (a la Jersey Shore) I told Owen right away and made it clear that I didn't have an online boyfriend all of a sudden. He thought it was funny. ^_^

So anyway, I'll get to writing that con report for CT soon. I will say that while I had a GREAT time, it's doubtful I'd return without my ladies since they made most of the fun.
morganskye: (Birdman That Thing?)
I leave for ConTemporal tomorrow. Guess who has two thumbs and hasn't done a thing to prep? This gal!

For serious. The only thing I've done is actually what I haven't done, which is fully unpack from ConCarolinas. My suitcase, shower bag, make-up, and most of Telma is by my sewing table which is exactly where I left it when I got home from the con. Before you go EW GROSS! please note that I took out all the laundry and such. I'm lazy not slovenly...usually. XD

I'm only taking Telma up. Since CT is a hair off of my normal cons I don't have too many costumes that would fit. Sure I could wear several, but I don't want to be 'that' costumer. Remember back a million years ago when you'd be laughed at for wearing a Star Trek costume at an anime con? Yeah I still feel like that sometimes. Sure the line is blurred, but old habits die hard.

So tonight I'll be packing (thank goodness I did laundry yesterday after Zumba), baking cupcakes, and doing the girly crap I've been putting off because I hate doing girly crap. Why does the hair keep growing back?!?
morganskye: (Fail!!)
If my plans after work are nothing more than sitting of my fat butt and playing video games then everything is fine. However as soon as I make a mental 'to-do' list, my brain turns into a drama queen and gets a headache.

Basically I told myself that I needed to clean the litter boxes and the kitchen, then start base-packing for ConTemporal. Within 20 minutes I was smacked with a headache so sharp I feel like there's an ice pick in my brain.

Not cool yo. Not cool.
morganskye: (Diet)
Apparently I was exactly the same from last month down to the decimal point. Weight/water/BMI/etc were so close to the same it was like I didn't budge. However I'm taking this as a win because I didn't gain. I can lose weight but I gain it back quickly. This time I didn't, so this is good.

I've been given clearance to work out so that's what I'm doing. Dr. Amy suggested I poke around the Prevention website for workout ideas, and this is what I found. It's a 1 hour/4 times weekly workout that doesn't require anything more than good shoes and a place to walk. Even a tight-wad like me has good shoes. :)

After some long thinking I've decided that I will be back at ConCarolinas next year as an attendee, and I will be entering the costume contest. Now I just have to figure out what I'm wearing. XD I still feel a little guilty about my breakdown, but it is what it is. I'm just lucky that I work with and know such great people. :)

Tonight will be a cleaning extravaganza. I've been a slacker since CC so now I'm making up for it. Laundry, dishes, and more. Tomorrow night I'm going to attempt to clean out the fridge. Hell I haven't even properly unpacked yet! Well, that's mainly because I need a better costume storage system. Apparently 'random box in the closet' isn't working anymore. Gee, it was fine when I only had three costumes...Once I get the closet cleared out it will be better, at least until Owen moves in.

I kind of like the idea of mid-week power cleaning. It will leave my weekend free to sew and cuddle with the boy. Normally I do it all Saturday morning, but if I can pull it off this will work out much better. And yes, I know that if I do a little cleaning every day then I won't have to do a mega-marathon. I can't help it, I get more done if I do it all at once. Plus it's a huge 'Look what I did!'.

At some point I MUST get to the storage unit. I keep putting it off and I don't know why. Probably because I don't want to see what's in there. I haven't cracked it open since November. I'll be there's spider webs everywhere. *shudder* However if I'm ever going to see my resin statues I need to get their boxes out. If everything sells at or close to my asking price then I should clear around $1,000. It's a little sad since I've had some of these figures for 10+ years, but now the money is more important. I just hope I can find buyers willing to accept my prices.

Oh yeah, and I need to make a new costume before ConTemporal on the 21st. XD No rest for the wicked!

This weekend was incredibly mixed. I completely enjoyed seeing my friends, staying with the lovely Kim and Mary, getting to finally wear Telma in public, and general con fun. However The Contest was a giant ball of sharp spikey stress which made me completely break down emotionally. Seriously. A few people were watching me for the rest of the night to be sure I didn't do something stupid. But first! Here's a shot of Telma from the photographer in the Dealer's Room. No cut for you!

Telma

I'm pretty!! Although I already want to remake things, like the jacket. It's obvious that I've lost enough weight that I already need to take it in, even without throwing the corset into the equation. Plus it needs more interfacing and a remake of the sleeves...*babbles on for a few minutes*

Ok, anyway. CC. I'm going to cut out a metric TON of drama, gossip, and hear-say. As far as I'm concerned, there is no one person or event that made me have my breakdown. It was a lot of miscommunication, misunderstanding, and a giant pile of little problems that all turned into a nightmare. While no contest ever goes without a hitch, this one had more then its fair share of mind-bending problems. Add to that the fact that it's my last one with this convention (therefore I wanted it perfect), and you have all you need for a Morgan Meltdown. I bawled my eyes out to the point that I couldn't even stand up. I can't say I'm sorry and thank you enough to Jada, the ladies in registration, and my crew of judges/emcees/friends who saw me snap. I'm pretty sure I freaked them out completely. Special lovings to Angela, Kim, and Kat. You three really helped me in ways you probably don't even realize and I'm so lucky to have you as my friends.

Aside from Freakout 2012, the con was pretty nice. I'm torn about returning next year strictly as an attendee, but all in all it's a good friendly con. Hell, maybe I'll enter the costume contest. :)
